  1. 21. Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease : Aspects on Diagnosis and Long-term Prognosis

    Author : Patrik Nasr; Stergios Kechagias; Mattias Ekstedt; Peter Lundberg; Einar Stefán Björnsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common cause of chronic liver disease affecting approximately 25% of the global population and is commonly recognized as the hepatic manifestation of the metabolic syndrome. The histological spectrum of NAFLD ranges from isolated steatosis to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), with risk of developing fibrosis and subsequent cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. 2. 22. Experimental and Computational Magnetic Resonance Studies of Selected Rare Earth and Bismuth Complexes

    Author : Vasantha Gowda; Oleg Antzutkin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry of Interfaces; Gränsytors kemi;

    Abstract : The rare-earth elements (REEs) and bismuth, being classified as the ‘most critical raw materials’ (European Raw Materials Initiatives, 2017), have a high economic importance to the EU combined with a high relative supply risk. REEs are highly important for the evolving technologies such as clean-energy applications, high-technology components, rechargeable batteries, permanent magnets, electric and hybrid vehicles, and phosphors monitors. 3. 23. Ribosomal RNA dynamics studied by NMR-spectroscopy

    Author : Hampus Karlsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The ribosome is a large macromolecular machine that consists of both ribosomal proteins and ribosomal RNA (rRNA). It is a complex consisting of two subunits held together by non-covalent interactions, intersubunit bridges and some of these bridging interactions are mediated by the rRNA. READ MORE

  4. 24. Magnetic relaxation studies of self-associating and membrane proteins

    Author : Michael Gottschalk; Lund University Bioimaging Center; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; beta-lactoglobulin A; Biokemisk teknik; Biochemical technology; HEWL; BPTI; bacteriorhodopsin; protein self-association; membrane proteins; NMR; magnetic relaxation dispersion;

    Abstract : Magnetic relaxation dispersion measurements have been performed on aqueous protein solutions to study the dynamics of waters in the proton transport channel of bacteriorhodopsin and the self-association of the proteins BPTI, lysozyme and beta-lactoglobulin. The measurements have focused on the bulk relaxation rates, R1 and R2, of three water nuclei 1H, 2H and 17O that are coupled to the protein environments by exchange and therefore report on properties such as the protein tumbling and dynamics of internal waters. 5. 25. Rolandic Epilepsy : A Neuroradiological, Neuropsychological and Oromotor Study

    Author : Staffan Lundberg; Orvar Eeg-Olofsson; Raili Raininko; Ulrich Stephani; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pediatrics; rolandic epilepsy; children; idiopathic focal epilepsy; magnetic resonance imaging; proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy; cognition; neuropsychology; oromotor performance; dichotic listening; hippocampus; classification; Pediatrik; Paediatric medicine; Pediatrisk medicin;

    Abstract : Rolandic epilepsy (RE) is the most common focal epilepsy syndrome in the pediatric age group with an onset between 3 and 13 years. The syndrome is defined by electro-clinically typical features and has been considered benign according to seizure remission before the age of 16 years. READ MORE
