  1. 1. Resistivity and Surface Wave Seismic Surveys in Geotechnical Site Investigations

    Author : Roger Wisén; Teknisk geologi; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; teknisk geografi; Hydrogeologi; teknisk geologi; Hydrogeology; geographical and geological engineering; resistivity method; surface wave seismic method; inverse modelling; site investigation; geophysics;

    Abstract : The adaptation of geophysical methods for civil engineering purposes represents an important contribution to the development of geotechnical site investigation methodology. The term geotechnical site investigation here refers to all investigations performed prior to or during construction; i.e. READ MORE

  2. 2. Natural and Controlled Source Magnetotelluric Data Processing and Modeling

    Author : Chunling Shan; Thomas Kalscheuer; Laust Pedersen; Mehrdad Bastani; Thorkild Rasmussen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geophysics; Airborne Electromagnetic Method; Radio Magnetotellurics; Controlled Source Magnetotellurics; Electrical Resistivity Tomography; Moving Magnetotellurics; 2D inversion; 3D inversion;

    Abstract : In this thesis, four studies using different geophysical electromagnetic methods are presented. In the first study dealing with airborne measurements, the noise response due to the rotation of the aircraft and the aircraft itself as a metallic conductive body on the Earth's electromagnetic response in very low frequency and low frequency band was investigated. 3. 3. Synthesis and transport properties of 2D transition metal carbides (MXenes)

    Author : Joseph Halim; Michel Barsoum; Lars Hultman; Per Eklund; Johanna Rosén; Martin Magnuson; Jun Lu; Christina Birkel; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Since the isolation and characterization of graphene, there has been a growing interest in 2D materials owing to their unique properties compared to their 3D counterparts. Recently, a family of 2D materials of early transition metal carbides and nitrides, labelled MXenes, has been discovered (Ti2CTz, Ti3C2Tz, Mo2TiC2Tz, Ti3CNTz, Ta4C3Tz, Ti4N3Tz among many others), where T stands for surface-terminating groups (O, OH, and F). 4. 4. Carbon Based Materials Synthesis and Characterization for 3D Integrated Electronics

    Author : Shuangxi Sun; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TIM; G-CNT; electrical resistivity; VA-CNTs; thermal resistance; 3D IC integration; TSV; graphene; VA-CNT-Solder; VA-CNT-Cu;

    Abstract : 3D IC packaging technology extends Moore’s law and shifts the IC field into a new generation of smaller, but more powerful devices. Interconnection and thermal management as two critical parts of 3D IC integration packaging, are facing harsh challenges due to the miniaturization of IC devices. READ MORE

  5. 5. From 2D to 3D Models of Electrical Conductivity based upon Magnetotelluric Data : Experiences from two Case Studies

    Author : Juliane Hübert; Laust B Pedersen; Ari Tryggavson; Toivo Korja; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Magnetotelluric measurements are among the few geophysical techniques capable of imaging the structure both in the shallow subsurface as well as the entire crust of the Earth. With recent technical and computational advances it has become possible to derive three-dimensional inversion models of the electrical conductivity from magnetotelluric data, thereby overcoming the problems arising from the simplified assumption of two-dimensionality in conventional two-dimensional modeling.
