  1. 1. Laser Diagnostics in Combustion - Elastic Scattering and Picosecond Laser-Induced Fluorescence

    Author : Frederik Ossler; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Spray; Picosecond laser; Streak camera; Time resolved; Fluorescence lifetimes; 3 – D flow imaging; 2 - D lifetime imaging; Pressure; Temperature; Hydrogen atoms; Oxygen atoms; 3-pentanone; Acetone; Lorenz-Mie theory; Aerosol; Fysicumarkivet A:1999:Ossler; Scattering; Fysik; Physics; Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.;

    Abstract : Elastic scattering and the Lorenz-Mie (LM) theory in particular is used for the characterization of sub-micron- and micron-sized droplets of organic fuels in sprays and aerosols. Calculations on the Lorenz- Mie theory show that backward-sideward scattered visible radiation can be used for unambiguous detection of ensembles of homogeneous droplets of organic substances with diameters around 1 micrometer (size parameter between 2 and 6). 2. 2. Aortic valvular flow : a clinical and experimental doppler echocardiographic study

    Author : Birgitta Janerot Sjöberg; Ihlen Halfdan; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Aortic blood velocity determination by ultrasound Doppler is a safe and valuable tool when evaluating patients with heart disease. The time-course of the velocity signal can be used for detemnining left ventricular function. READ MORE

  3. 3. Laser Doppler perfusion imaging : methodology and skin applications

    Author : Karin Wårdell; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Over the last decade a number of emerging technologies have become available for the non-invasive study of skin anatomy and physiology. In this thesis, a method for mapping tissue perfusion based on the laser Doppler technique is presented together with some of the associated experimental and clinical applications. READ MORE

  4. 4. k-space Models in MRI Using the Concept of Partitions, Applications with special reference to Overhauser-enhanced techniques

    Author : J Stefan Petersson; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; model; Physics; k-space; magnetic resonance imaging; Overhauser; simulation; Fysik;

    Abstract : A new model describing the image formation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been developed. The k-space description of MRI pulse sequences is expanded by introducing new dimensions to describe the phase dispersion due to flow, acceleration, jerk, diffusion and magnetic field inhomogeneities. 5. 5. High resolution laser doppler imaging for microvascular blood flow measurements

    Author : Maria Lindén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Techniques for functional assessment of blood flow dynamics in individual microvessels are likely to become tools of increasing importance, for example in the evaluation of new vasoactive drugs. Laser Doppler perfusion Imaging (LDI) is a non- contact method for visualization of spatial and temporal blood flow dynamics. READ MORE
