  1. 1. Silaborations of Unsaturated Compounds

    Author : Martin Gerdin; Christina Moberg; Kálmán Szabó; KTH; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; allylboration; bismetallation; boron; carbocyclization; catalysis; 1; 3-diene; enantioselective; 1; 6-enyne; interelement; N-heterocyclic carbene; nickel; palladium; phosphine; phosphoramidite; platinum; reaction mechanism; silaboration; silicon; silylborane; stereoselective; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the development of transition metal-catalyzed silaborations of 1,3-dienes and 1,6-enynes. The first part of the thesis describes the development of the enantioselective 1,4-silaboration of 1,3-cyclohexadiene. A number of chiral metal-ligand complexes were evaluated. READ MORE

  2. 2. Palladium-Catalyzed Carbocyclizations of Allenes with Unsaturated Hydrocarbons

    Author : Johan Franzén; Jan-E. Bäckvall; Ross A. Widenhoefer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Palladium-catalysis; Allenes; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Palladium-catalyzed reactions of unsaturated hydrocarbons are important processes in organic chemistry especially for the generation of ring systems. This thesis describes the development and mechanistic studies of carbocyclization reactions of allenes with olefins, allyls or 1,3-dienes catalyzed by palladium(0)- and palladium(II)-complexes. 3. 3. Studies on Palladium-Catalyzed Carbocyclizations of Allene-Substituted Olefins and 1,3-Dienes

    Author : Katja Närhi; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Giovanni Poli; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organometallic Chemistry; Homogenous Catalysis; Palladium; Allenes; C-C bond formation; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the development and mechanistic studies of carbocyclization reactions of allene-substituted olefins and 1,3-dienes, catalyzed by palladium(0) and palladium(II). These reactions results in the formation of [n,3,0] bicyclic systems (n = 3-5) with high stereoselectivity and in good to excellent yields. READ MORE
