1. Enhancement, Detection, and Visualization of 3D Volume Data
Abstract : Three-dimensional (3D) volume data become increasingly common with the emergence and wide availability of modern 3D image acquisition techniques. The demand for computerized analysis and visualization techniques is constantly growing to utilize the abundant information embedded in these data. This thesis consists of two parts. READ MORE

3. MRI evaluation and image processing in gel dosimetry. A study of selected MRI properties and image processing in 3D gel dosimetry
Abstract : Gel dosimetry is a new dosimetry method applied in radiation therapy. Gel dosimeters consist of a radiation sensitive gel, which can integrate absorbed doses from several radiation sources or beams. The dose to the gel can be evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), a procedure that is the focus of the present thesis. READ MORE

4. Assessment of Left Ventricular Function and Hemodynamics Using Three-dimensional Echocardiography
Abstract : Left ventricular (LV) volumes and ejection fraction (EF) are important predictors of cardiac morbidity and mortality. LV volumes provide valuable prognostic information which isparticularly useful in the selection of therapy or determination of the optimal time for surgery. READ MORE

5. Seismic imaging of volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits : From legacy to innovative surveys
Abstract : The volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits at the Neves-Corvo mine area, part of the Iberian Pyrite Belt in southern Portugal, were studied using seismic methods. Three distinct reflection seismic datasets were used in this study: a 2D legacy data from 1996, an innovative 2019 surface and in-mine acquisition, and a 2011 3D seismic survey. READ MORE
