  1. 1. From experiments with images to 3D models

    Author : Henrike Häbel; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; colloidal particle aggregation; Anisotropy; mass transport; image analysis; Gibbs point processes; porous polymer blended films; porous polymer blended films;

    Abstract : For developing the next generation sustainable materials, it is often crucial to understand and control their properties and function. This work presents cross-disciplinary research starting with experimentally fabricated porous soft biomaterials and images of their micro-structure obtained by electron or laser microscopy. 2. 2. Pain in Osteoarthritic Joints: Biological Signaling and 3D Models based on Imaging

    Author : Birgitta Gatenholm; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Osteoarthritis; pain in knee joints; cartilage lesions; micro-computed tomography; 3D CAD models; neuropeptides;

    Abstract : Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common joint disease, causing disability in middle-aged and elderly patients worldwide and imposing a huge socioeconomic burden. OA of the knee joint is a major cause of joint pain and, along with back pain, it accounts for the two most-reported causes of chronic pain. READ MORE

  3. 3. From 2D to 3D Models of Electrical Conductivity based upon Magnetotelluric Data : Experiences from two Case Studies

    Author : Juliane Hübert; Laust B Pedersen; Ari Tryggavson; Toivo Korja; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Magnetotelluric measurements are among the few geophysical techniques capable of imaging the structure both in the shallow subsurface as well as the entire crust of the Earth. With recent technical and computational advances it has become possible to derive three-dimensional inversion models of the electrical conductivity from magnetotelluric data, thereby overcoming the problems arising from the simplified assumption of two-dimensionality in conventional two-dimensional modeling. 4. 4. Geophysical 3D models of Paleoproterozoic Iron Oxide Apatite mineralization’s and Related Mineral Systems in Norrbotten, Sweden

    Author : Oskar Rydman; Maxim Smirnov; Thorkild Maack Rasmussen; Tobias Bauer; Niklas Juhojuntti; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geophysics; Magnetotellurics; 3D Inversion modelling; Classification; Potential fields; Mineral system; Petrophysics; mineral exploration; common earth modeling; iron oxide-apatite; Northern Norrbotten ore province; Tillämpad geofysik; Applied Geophysics;

    Abstract : The Northern Norrbotten ore district hosts a multitude of Sweden’s mineral deposits including world class deposits such as the Malmberget and Kirunavaara Iron oxide apatite deposits, the Aitik Iron oxide copper gold deposit, and a multitude of smaller deposits. Northern Norrbotten has been shaped by tectonothermal events related to the evolution of the Fennoscandian Shield and is a geologically complex environment. READ MORE

  5. 5. 3D Human Pose and Shape Estimation Based on Parametric Model and Deep Learning

    Author : Zhongguo Li; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 3D Human body; Implicit function; Deep Learning; SMPL model; Parametric model; Pose and shape estimation;

    Abstract : 3D human body reconstruction from monocular images has wide applications in our life, such as movie, animation, Virtual/Augmented Reality, medical research and so on. Due to the high freedom of human body in real scene and the ambiguity of inferring 3D objects from 2D images, it is a challenging task to accurately recover 3D human body models from images. READ MORE
