  1. 6. The Nucleus 59Cu - Complex Structure, Shape Evolution, Exotic Decay Modes

    Author : Corina Andreoiu; Fysiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kondenserade materiens egenskaper:elektronstruktur; spectroscopy; relaxation; magnetic resonance; supraconductors; Ge detectors; gamma-ray spectroscopy; charged particle detectors; level scheme; superdeformation; Cranched Nilsson-Strutinsky approach; gamma decay-out mechanism; prompt proton decay; Condensed matter:electronic structure; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; magnetic and optical properties; electrical; egenskaper elektriska; magnetiska och optiska ; supraledare; magnetisk resonans; spektroskopi; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Andreoiu;

    Abstract : High-spin states in the mass A~60 region were populated using the state-of-art gamma-ray spectrometers Gammasphere, Euroball, and GASP in conjunction with dedicated ancillary detectors. In particular, the 59Cu nucleus was studied in several experiments, and a very extensive level scheme was determined. READ MORE

  2. 7. Isotope-Selective Spectroscopy: Fast Timing R&D and fp-Shell Mirror Isomers

    Author : Robert Hoischen; Kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mirror isomer; time of flight; plastic scintillator; fast timing; time resolution; Fysicumarkivet A:2011:Hoischen;

    Abstract : This thesis highlights the research and development of a new plastic-scintillator detector for time-of-flight measurements in relativistic heavy-ion beam experiments. The detector makes possible the identification of different ion species on flight distances as short as a few meters. READ MORE

  3. 8. Improvement of the AMS-technique and applications to 3H and 59Ni Measurements

    Author : Madis Kiisk; Kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; accelerator mass spectrometry AMS ; development of AMS technique; 59Ni; tritium; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Kiisk;

    Abstract : Accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) is a highly sensitive technique for counting atoms. Its main advantage in comparison with radiometric methods is the smaller amount of sample required (by a factor of a thousand). The method has a high efficiency and requires only some ten mg of sample material. READ MORE

  4. 9. Rigidity of the Doubly-Magic 100Sn Core

    Author : Matej Lipoglavsek; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; in-beam gamma-ray spectrscopy; nuclear structure; fusion-evaporation reactions; nuclear shell model; quadrupole polarization charge; doubly-magic nucleus; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:1998:Lipoglavšek;

    Abstract : The doubly magic nucleus 100Sn represents a crucial test for the nuclear shell model, which is a widely used model for a quantitative description of nuclei. Excited states in 100Sn are experimentally not accessible with present day techniques, but it is possible to gain insight into its structure by studying the properties of excited states of neighboring nuclei.
