  2. 7. Copper(II) Azido Complexes: Synthesis, X-ray structures, thermal and magnetic properties

    Author : Al-Shimaà A A Massoud; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cu II complexes; bridging µ1; quinoxaline; 2; pyrazinetetrazolate; quinolinecarboxylate; 1–N3; 5-dimethylpyrazine; ferromagnetic interactions;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on the synthesis and X-ray structure analysis of seven copper(II) and one cobalt(II) azido coordination polymer with quinoline and pyrazine derivatives as bridging co-ligands. The synthesis of these complexes were done by direct mixing of the metal salt (Cu(NO3)2 and CoCl2) and the organic ligand (pyrazinecarbonitrile, quinoxaline, quinoline-4-carboxylic acid and 2,5-dimethylpyrazine) solutions followed by the dropwise addition of aqueous sodium azide (NaN3) with continuous stirring. 3. 8. Studies on cell wall recycling and modification in Gram-negative bacteria

    Author : Michael C. Gilmore; Felipe Cava; Peter A Lind; Teresa Frisan; Jean-François Collet; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Peptidoglycan recycling; bacterial cell wall; antibiotics; Agrobacterium tumefaciens; Escherichia coli; Legionella pneumophila; mikrobiologi; Microbiology; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Abstract : The bacterial cell wall is made from peptidoglycan (PG), a heteropolymer which forms a bag-like exoskeleton that envelopes the cell. PG is constantly remodelled during growth and division, and in response to environmental stimuli. READ MORE

  4. 9. Temporal and spatial dynamics in subarctic peat plateaus and thermokarst lakes

    Author : A. Britta K. Sannel; Peter Kuhry; Peter Jansson; Ian A. Brown; Serge Payette; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : Peatlands; permafrost; subarctic; peat plateau; thermokarst lake; macrofossil analysis; carbon nitrogen ratio; peat accumulation; carbon accumulation; remote sensing; binary encoding; time-series analysis; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Abstract : Permafrost peatlands are widespread at high northern latitudes and are important soil organic carbon reservoirs. A future warming in these areas, as suggested by global climate models, can cause thawing and increased ground subsidence (thermokarst), resulting in changes in surface hydrology and ecosystem functioning. 5. 10. Self-Regulation in Childhood : Developmental Mechanisms and Relations to ADHD Symptoms

    Author : Matilda A Frick; K. C. Brocki; Cecilia Wåhlstedt; Edmund J S Sonuga-Barke; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Abstract : Self-regulation is a multi-faceted construct that concerns goal-directed behaviors, which aid individuals in everyday life and in achieving long-term goals. Self-regulation in believed to progress in a hierarchical fashion, in that simple cognitive functions are integrated into more complex functions across development. READ MORE
