  1. 11. Addressing client uncertainty : a Swedish property owners' perspective on industrialised timber framed housing and property

    Author : Erika Levander; Jan Bröchner; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Träbyggnad; Timber Structures;

    Abstract : Construction clients have the position to continuously improve new-built from a life cycle perspective. Furthermore, they can contribute to advancement and improved competition in construction by putting more explicit and distinct requirements and by a willingness to try new, non-local contractors and new construction methods (Statskontoret 2009). 2. 12. Topology optimization of vehicle body structures : method, theory and applications

    Author : Harald Fredricson; Erik Lund; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : This dissertation is concerned with topology optimization of vehicle body structures.The first part of this thesis gives a summary of the research project. A design process for complex mechanical structures is presented. This design process includes an optimization step where simplified models are optimized. READ MORE

  3. 13. Multimethod aerodynamic research of engine-realistic turbine rear structures

    Author : Valentin Vikhorev; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; particle image velocimetry; vane lean; pressure taps; enginerealistic; engine-mount recess; European Union EU ; hot-wire anemometry; outlet guide vanes; oil-film visualization; multi-hole probe; turbine exhaust case; bump; turbine rear frame; computational fluid dynamics.; Clean Sky 2; experimental multimethod approach; Horizon 2020; EATEEM; turbine rear structure; low-pressure turbine;

    Abstract : Despite the significant advancements in aircraft engine technology over the past years, the aerodynamics of engine-realistic turbine rear structures (TRS) remain largely unexplored. The TRS, a structural and aerodynamic component situated downstream of the low-pressure turbine (LPT), plays a pivotal role in engine aerodynamic performance, deswirling the LPT flow to maximize the engine thrust. 4. 14. Restraint Effects in Concrete Bridges : A Study of Cracking due to Thermal Actions and Shrinkage in Portal Frame Bridges

    Author : Erik Gottsäter; Avdelningen för Konstruktionsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tvång; Betong; Uppsprickning; Temperaturlast; Plattrambro; FE-analys; Restraint; Concrete; Cracking; Thermal action; Portal frame bridge; FE-analysis;

    Abstract : Thermal actions and shrinkage cause volume changes in concrete structures. In structures which are restrained from movements, the restraint effects can cause cracking. However, when cracking occurs, the structure can deform to some extent, which reduces the restraint stresses and thus also the crack widths. READ MORE

  5. 15. Statistical energy analysis and variational principles for the prediction of sound transmission in multilayered structures

    Author : Mathias Barbagallo; Svante Finnveden; Jean-Louis Guyader; KTH; []
