  1. 1. A Co-Simulation Tool Applied to Hydraulic Percussion Units

    Author : Håkan Andersson; Daniel Leidermark; Kjell Simonsson; Joakim Holmberg; Pär Jonsén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : In this dissertation, a co-simulation tool is presented that is meant to comprise a more comprehensive environment for modelling and simulation of hydraulic percussion units, which are used in hydraulic hammers and rock drills. These units generates the large impact forces, which are needed to demolish concrete structures in the construction industry or to fragment rock when drilling blast holes in mine drifting. READ MORE

  2. 2. Dynamics of some vibro-impacting systems with amplitude constraints

    Author : Jan-Olov Aidanpää; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics; Datorstödd maskinkonstruktion; Computer Aided Design;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the dynamics of some vibro-impacting systems with fixed or moving amplitude constraints. It is based on and includes five papers, marked A to E. Simple models of three different vibro-impacting systems with applications in the fields of impact hammers, granular flow and disk brakes in vehicles are analysed. READ MORE

  3. 3. Rock fragmentation by cutting, ripping and impacts : some theoretical and experimental studies

    Author : Karl Erik Rånman; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och Berganläggningsteknik;

    Abstract : Models of different forms of rock fragmentation are presented, having mainly two purposes; to increase the understanding for the fragmentation processes, and to form a base for quantitative predictions. The results of some full scale rock cutting tests are also presented. The thesis consists of five separate papers. READ MORE

  4. 4. System for water driven down-hole hammer drilling

    Author : Göran Tuomas; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattenteknik; Water Resources Engineering;

    Abstract : Drilling with water driven down-hole hammers is a recently developed method for competitive production of boreholes. The technology requires large flow rates of preferably high quality fluid to drive the hammer tool. One method to reduce the consumption is to process and recycle the used drilling fluid. READ MORE

  5. 5. Thermal response test : numerical simulations and analyses

    Author : Anna-Maria Gustafsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattenteknik; Water Resources Engineering; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Abstract : When constructing large borehole heat exchanger (BHE) systems, bedrock and borehole thermal properties are vital for a good design. Today's design programs presume conductive heat transfer in both borehole and bedrock. READ MORE
