  1. 1. The evolution of markets - A service ecosystems perspective

    Author : Kaisa Koskela-Huotari; Per Skålén; Bo Edvardsson; Stephen L. Vargo; Hope Schau; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Market; innovation; market evolution; service ecosystems; institutions; institutional change; value cocreation; service-dominant logic; conceptual research; transdisciplinary research; Business Administration; Företagsekonomi;

    Abstract : This conceptual dissertation aims to build an integrative and transdisciplinary framework of market evolution by reconnecting the study of innovations and markets, with help from the service ecosystems perspective. The service ecosystems perspective offers a processual, systemic, and institutional view on value creation, which is grounded in the axiomatic assumptions of service-dominant (S-D) logic. READ MORE

  2. 2. Lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases for green production of cellulose nanomaterials

    Author : Salla Koskela; Qi Zhou; Markus Linder; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cellulose; enzyme; CNC; CNF; LPMO; nanocellulose; wood; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Abstract : Cellulose is the main structural polymer in wood, and its potential in the form of nanomaterial building blocks, nanocelluloses, has now been recognized. Nanocelluloses, including cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), have become increasingly important in development of modern sustainable materials. READ MORE

  3. 3. On the role of nitric oxide in lower urinary tract disease

    Author : Lotta Renström Koskela; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Nitric oxide (NO) is an important biological molecule with a variety of functions. Among other, it is a signalling molecule capable of inducing smooth muscle relaxation and vasodilatation, it regulates proliferation, can induce apoptosis and act as an effector molecule in host defence reactions and in immune regulatory processes. 4. 4. Regulation of fibroblast activity by keratinocytes, TGF-β and IL-1α : studies in two- and three dimensional in vitro models

    Author : Anita Koskela von Sydow; Mikael Ivarsson; Torbjörn Bengtsson; Hans Törmä; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fibroblast; Keratinocyte; TGF-β; IL-1α; coculture; fibrosis CTGF CNN 2; dermal; organotypic culture;

    Abstract : Dysregulated wound healing is commonly associated with excessive fibrosis. Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF/CCN2) is characteristically overexpressed in fibrotic diseases and stimulated by transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) in dermal fibroblasts. Reepithelialisation and epidermal wound coverage counteract excessive scar formation. READ MORE

  5. 5. Newtonian Spaces Based on Quasi-Banach Function Lattices

    Author : Lukáš Malý; Anders Björn; Jana Björn; Tomas Sjödin; Pekka Koskela; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Newtonian space; upper gradient; weak upper gradient; Banach function lattice; quasi-normed space; metric measure space;

    Abstract : The traditional first-order analysis in Euclidean spaces relies on the Sobolev spaces W1,p(Ω), where Ω ⊂ Rn is open and p ∈ [1, ∞].The Sobolev norm is then defined as the sum of Lp norms of a function and its distributional gradient.We generalize the notion of Sobolev spaces in two different ways.
