1. Production of polyclonal antibodies in rabbits and chickens immunised with human immunoglobulin G : A study of the utility of egg yolk antibody production as a substitute for rabbit serum antibody production
Abstract : The utility of chicken egg yolk antibodies as an alternative to rabbit antisera was studied by comparing antibody and avidity development in immunised animals (15 rabbits and 30 chickens) during a one-year immunisation scheme. Human IgG was used as the model antigen and the efficacy of three adjuvants, Freund's Complete Adjuvant, Freund's Incomplete Adjuvant and Hunter's TiterMax, was compared. READ MORE

2. Applications of Laser-Plasma Acceleration
Abstract : This thesis is dedicated to the investigation of laser-plasma particle acceleration concepts. Some of the work was focused on improving electron and proton acceleration for future applications, in terms of maximizing the particle energy and minimizing the divergence of the X-ray beams. 3. In vitro and in vivo studies of salivary films at solid/liquid interfaces
Abstract : A conditioning film, the pellicle, of which many salivary proteins areimportant constituents, covers the surfaces present in the mouth. The pellicleforms in a selective adsorption process, and it has protective and lubricatingfunctions as well as an influence on the adherence of oral microbes thatultimately leads to the development of dental plaque.
