1. INITIATION OF EXPERIMENTAL ACUTE PANCREATITIS AND MODULATION OF INFLAMMATORY RESPONSE
Abstract : Heparan sulfate (HS), a substance common in the extracellular matrix on epithelial cells is present in the pancreas, lining the duct lumen. During pathological conditions, we propose that it can be shed from the ECM and bind to receptors on the cell surface, thus triggering an inflammatory response, which if excessive can cause acute pancreatitis (AP). 2. Chemical signals in interactions between Hylobius abietis and associated bacteria
Abstract : The pine weevil (Hylobius abietis L.) is one of the two topmost economically important insect pests in Swedish conifer forests. The damage increase in areas were the silvicultural practice is to use clear cuttings were the insects gather and breed. READ MORE

3. Evaluation of various strategies to improve outcome after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest with particular focus on mechanical chest compressions
Abstract : Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills vary among health care professionals. A previous study revealed that chest compressions were only performed half the time in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). Field conditions and fatigue could be possible explanations. READ MORE

4. The large sialoglycoprotein of human lymphocytes
Abstract : L-LSGP is an abundant cell surface glycoprotein (a.m.w. intact 115—125 kdalton, desialylated 140—160 kdalton) restricted to lymphocytes in the hemopoietic system. READ MORE

5. Functional Programming Enabling Flexible Hardware Design at Low Levels of Abstraction
Abstract : Continuous down-scaling of sizes in VLSI circuits causes low-level electrical phenomena to become more and more prominent performance stoppers in modern chip technologies. This forces designers to work at a lower level of abstraction than desired in order to gain control over these effects. READ MORE
