  1. 1. Phenomenological studies of dimensional deconstruction

    Author : Tomas Hällgren; Tommy Ohlsson; Stefan Antusch; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dimensional deconstruction; higher-dimensional gauge theories; neu- trino mixing; neutrino oscillations; universal extra dimensions; ADD models; Ka- luza{Klein dark matter; Other physics; Övrig fysik;

    Abstract : In this thesis, two applications of dimensional deconstruction are studied. The first application is a model for neutrino oscillations in the presence of a large decon- structed extra dimension. In the second application, Kaluza{Klein dark matter from a latticized universal extra dimension is studied. The goal of these projects have been twofold. READ MORE

  2. 2. Phenomenology of Diffractive Higgs Production and Large Extra Dimensions

    Author : Malin Sjödahl; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ADD; black holes; gravitational scattering; quantum field theory; Elementary particle physics; LHC; cosmic rays; Kosmisk strålning; högenergi; High energy interactions; kvantfältteori; Elementarpartikelfysik; Higgs; large extra dimensions; Diffractive;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on phenomenological predictions for high energy particle collisions from two different theoretical models. The first two papers deal with uncertainties in exclusive reactions of type proton + proton -> proton + proton + Higgs. READ MORE

  3. 3. Computational Models of Spatial Transcriptomes

    Author : Ludvig Bergenstråhle; Joakim Lundeberg; Jens Lagergren; Ole Winther; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Abstract : Spatial biology is a rapidly growing field that has seen tremendous progress over the last decade. We are now able to measure how the morphology, genome, transcriptome, and proteome of a tissue vary across space. READ MORE

  4. 4. Search for Supersymmetry and Large Extra Dimensions with the ATLAS Experiment

    Author : Gabriele Bertoli; Christophe Clement; Martijn Mulders; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ATLAS; CERN; large extra dimensions; supersymmetry; compressed; squark; neutralino; monojet; ADD; standard model; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The Large Hadron Collider is the most powerful particle accelerator built to date. It is a proton-proton and heavy ion collider which in 2015 and 2016 operated at an unprecedented center of mass energy of √s = 13 TeV. The Tile Calorimeter is the ATLAS hadronic calorimeter covering the central region of the detector. READ MORE

  5. 5. Rethinking network management solutions : models, data-mining and self-learning

    Author : Stefan Wallin; Rolf Stadler; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Distribuerade datorsystem; Mobile and Pervasive Computing;

    Abstract : Network service providers are struggling to reduce cost while at the same time improving customer satisfaction. This thesis addresses three relevant underlying challenges to achievieng these goals: - managing an overwhelming flow of low-quality alarms - understanding the structure and quality of the delivered services - automation of service configurationAll of the these add to an operator's operational costs since manual work is required in order to understand the alarm and service status as well as for configuring new services.
