11. The development of the Situated Phoneme (SiP) test : A Swedish test of phonemic discrimination in noise for adultpeople with hearing loss
Abstract : In the current thesis, a Swedish phoneme-level speech-audiometric test in natural background noise was developed. The test is called the Situated Phoneme (SiP) test. READ MORE

12. Perinatal regenerative medicine : development of autologous constructs for soft tissue defects
Abstract : Disrupted organogenesis leads to permanent malformations that may require surgical correction. Affected new-borns without spare tissue for the primary closure are dependent of other solutions. Because of the perinatal tissue shortage, synthetic or biological prosthetic materials are being used, which may be associated with complications. READ MORE

13. The Alnö alkaline and carbonatitic complex, east central Sweden - a petrogenetic study
Abstract : The Alnö complex on the central Swedish east coast is composed of a main composite intrusion (the main intrusion) and four smaller satellite intrusions (Söråker, Sälskär, Långharsholmen and Båräng) distributed around the main intrusion on Alnö Island and on the mainland north of the island. The major rock types exposed within the complex are melilitolite, pyroxenite, ijolite series (melteigite-ijolite-urtite), nepheline syenite, carbonatite and alnöite dykes. READ MORE

14. Efficient Quantum Memories Based on Spectral Engineering of Rare-Earth-Ion-Doped Solids
Abstract : The main aim of the present thesis is to demonstrate the efficient quantum memories for light employing coherent processes in rare-earth-ion-doped crystals. Rare-earth (RE) ions between lanthanum, with atomic number 57, and lutetium, with atomic number 71, have a partly filled 4f shell, which is spatially inside the full shells 5s, 5p, and 6s. READ MORE

15. Genomic and Molecular Aspects of Mature Human B Cells
Abstract : This thesis covers aspects of the mature human B cell and its different guises on its way to become a fully differentiated antibody forming plasma cell (AFC), the key player in the humoral immune system. The understanding of the complex molecular mechanisms taking place in the B cell, as it first encounters antigen, enters the germinal center (GC) reaction, giving rise to memory cells and plasma cells, is not only of importance for the curious scientist, but will also benefit the understanding of B cells in disease.
