  1. 1. Servicescapes seen by visually impaired travellers : Time-geography approach to servicescape research

    Author : Alma Raissova; Institutionen för service management och tjänstevetenskap; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; servicescape; time-geography; constraints; tactics; blind; visually impaired persons; servicescape; tidsgeografi; begränsningar; taktik; blinda; synskadade;

    Abstract : Knowledge gaps remain in the study of servicescapes, since existing research on servicescapes tends to ignore major advances in the understanding of space and time as social phenomena. One aspect that particularly requires further study is how emerging constraints influence customers’ interactions with organized service places. READ MORE

  2. 2. Plasmid mediated antibiotic resistance : with focus on extended spectrum β-lactamases (ESBL)

    Author : Alma Brolund; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Enterobacteriaceae is a family of bacteria including Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae that are common colonizers of the gastrointestinal tract. Extended spectrum β- lactamases (ESBL) are bacterial enzymes that degrade β-lactam antibiotics and thus make the bacteria resistant to β-lactam antibiotics. READ MORE

  3. 3. Investigation of a Biofilm Reactor Model with Suspended Biomass

    Author : Alma Masic; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; wall attachment; suspended growth; substrate removal; reactor; biofilm; CSTR; mathematical model; MBBR; nitrification; optimization;

    Abstract : Biofilms are compact, sessile microbial communities that attach to surfaces in aqueous environments. In wastewater treatment, they are especially important for removal of phosphorus and nitrogen, which, if released into a receiving water body, can cause severe eutrophication. READ MORE

  4. 4. Computational methods for analysis of spatial transcriptomics data : An exploration of the spatial gene expression landscape

    Author : Alma Andersson; Joakim Lundeberg; Omer Bayraktar; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spatial transcriptomics; machine learning; data analysis; RNA-seq; probabilistic; statistical; models; Bioteknologi; Biotechnology;

    Abstract : Transcriptomics techniques, whether in the form of bulk, single cell/nuclei, or spatial methods have fueled a substantial expansion of our knowledge about the biological systems within and around us. In addition, the rate of innovation has accelerated over the last decade, resulting in a multitude of technological advances and new methods for generation of transcriptomics data. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Epstein-Barr nuclear antigens 1 & 5; Study of virus-host cellular protein interactions

    Author : Alma Forsman; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epstein-Barr virus; EBNA1; EBNA5; EBNA-LP; cellular network; virus-host protein interactions;

    Abstract : The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is the causative agent or cofactor in the aetiology of several human malignancies such as Burkitt’s lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and lymphoproliferative disorder in immunocompromised patients. EBV is a lymphotropic γ-herpes virus infecting more than 90 percent of the population worldwide. READ MORE
