  1. 11. Organic electronics for precise delivery of neurotransmitters

    Author : Amanda Jonsson; Magnus Berggren; Daniel Simon; Marco Rolandi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Organic electronic materials, that is, carbon-based compounds that conduct electricity, have emerged as candidates for improving the interface between conventional electronics and biological systems. The softness of these materials matches the elasticity of biological tissue better than conventional electronic conductors, allowing better contact to tissue, and the mixed ionic-electronic conductivity can improve the signal transduction between electronic devices and electrically excitable cells. 2. 12. Who is Woman and Who is Man? : Normativity at Intersections of Gender and Sexual Orientation

    Author : Amanda Klysing; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Gender; Sexual orientation; Normativity; Intersectional analysis; Stereotype content; Group prototypes;

    Abstract : Current gender norms predominantly construct gender as an expression of binary sex categories that are different but complementary. A performative view of gender instead analyses gender as an emergent feature of social interactions that is created by the constant repetition of acts in relation to discourses of gender. READ MORE

  3. 13. Characterisation of Time-dependent Statistical Failure of Fibre Networks : Applications for Light-weight Structural Composites

    Author : Amanda Mattsson; Tetsu Uesaka; Christina Dahlström; Sören Östlund; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The future of a sustainable society requires that materials not only be renewable, but also leave as small a carbon foot-printin the environment as possible. One such product is light-weight composite material for transportation packages. Cellulose fibres have been and will continue to be ideal for this purpose. READ MORE

  4. 14. Environmental Toxins and Essential Trace Elements at Delivery and ADHD

    Author : Amanda Ode; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PFCs; manganese; selenium; phthalates; ADHD; fetus;

    Abstract : Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), phthalates, manganese and selenium are ubiquitous in the environment and humans and influence fetal growth and development. Register and biobank based case-control studies were conducted to investigate the relationship between prenatal exposure to these chemicals and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in childhood. 5. 15. Ductal adenocarcinoma of the prostate : a morphological, immunohistochemical and genetic study

    Author : Amanda Seipel; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Ductal adenocarcinoma of the prostate (DAC) is the second most common prostate cancer subtype. Patients with DAC often present at an advanced clinicopathological stage, with or without metastases. READ MORE
