  1. 21. Advancing Endovascular Management of Thoracic Aortic Disease

    Author : William J. Yoon; Anders Wanhainen; Kevin Mani; Thomas Forbes; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Thoracic endovascular aortic repair; branched thoracic endograft; dissection specific stent graft; computational fluid dynamics; automated image analysis; Kirurgi; Surgery;

    Abstract : Despite technological advances and new endograft designs, endovascular treatment of the thoracic aorta still has important limitations. The aims of this thesis were to obtain further understanding on specific limitations in treating complex thoracic aortic pathologies with current technologies, to gain more insights into the hemodynamic consequences of thoracic endografting, and to explores the potential of deep learning algorithm-based automatic assessment of follow-up CTA imaging. 2. 22. Statistical properties of GARCH processes

    Author : Changli He; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This dissertation contains five chapters. An introduction and a summary of the research are given in Chapter 1. The other four chapters present theoretical results on the moment structure of GARCH processes. Some chapters also contain empirical examples in order to illustrate applications of the theory.     Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Byggnadsteknik; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : Previous investigations of Swedish and international dams have shown difficultiesto assess the safety against failure in rock foundations. The problem was alsogiven additional interest in connection to the recent construction of the newbridge at Traneberg in Stockholm. READ MORE

  4. 24. In Vivo Accuracy and Precision in Prosthodontics

    Author : Robert Nedelcu; Andreas Thor; Ingela Nyström; Pontus Olsson; Per Vult von Steyern; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; accuracy; precision; in vivo; digital impression; intraoral scanner; polyether impression; implant impression; framework misfit; fully edentulous; Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; Käkkirurgi; Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; Käkkirurgi;

    Abstract : Background: There has been a dramatic increase in commercially available intraoral scanners (IOS) in the last decade, offering to replace indirect digitization of models (MOD) fabricated from impressions (IMPR). IOS has benefits of less patient discomfort and a faster workflow to fabricate fixed dental prosthesis (FDP), and implant-supported prostheses (IFD). READ MORE

  5. 25. Ultrasound evaluation of atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular sources of cerebral embolism

    Author : Robert Wetterholm; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : stroke; atherosclerosis; aorta; echocardiography; ultrasound; IMT; MES; WHHL;

    Abstract : The search for embolic sources has high priority in patients presenting with suspected cerebral embolism. Non-invasive cardiovascular ultrasound is frequently used to reveal the presence of carotid stenosis and cardiac disorders with embolic potential. READ MORE
