  1. 1. High cell density perfusion process development for antibody producing Chinese Hamster Ovary cells

    Author : Ye Zhang; Vincent Bulone; Veronique Chotteau; Carl-Fredrik Mandenius; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; WAVE Bioreactor; Cellbag; ATF; TFF; hollow fiber; CSPR; CellTank; SUB; single-use-bioreactor; disposable; perfusion rate; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Abstract : Perfusion operation mode is currently under fast expansion in mammalian cell based manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals, not only for labile drug protein but also for stable proteins such as monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). Perfusion mode can advantageously offer a stable cell environment, long-term production with high productivity and consistent product quality. READ MORE

  2. 2. Hydrodynamics considerations in cells systems from ocean flow to perfusion cultivation process

    Author : Caijuan Zhan; Véronique Chotteau; Jeffrey Chalmers; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Microorganism; cells; hydrodynamics; turbulence; numerical simulation; CFD; Resonance; Wave bioreactor; ATF; TFF; perfusion; design feeding strategy; Bioteknologi; Biotechnology;

    Abstract : Microorganisms and animal cells are grown surrounded by fluid, which is providing them with nutrients and removing their waste products. In nature and industry processes, cells/microbes can be subject to aggressive environments, such as turbulent flow or shear flow. READ MORE

  3. 3. Advances in Accident Tolerant Fuel Research by Doping of Uranium Nitride

    Author : Luis Guillermo Gonzalez Fonseca; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Uranium nitride; sintering; internal gelation; doping; ATF; microspheres; density; waterproofing.;

    Abstract : Nuclear energy is a carbon-free energy source alternative often considered less harmful to the environment than fossil fuels. However, accidents have shown that there are some safety concerns regarding nuclear energy that need to be assessed before it can be considered completely safe. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fabrication and Testing of Doped Uranium Nitride as an Accident Tolerant Fuel Alternative

    Author : Luis Guillermo Gonzalez Fonseca; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; internal gelation; density; Uranium nitride; sintering; microspheres; doping; waterproofing.; ATF;

    Abstract : Nuclear energy is a carbon-free energy source often considered less harmful to the environment than fossil fuels. However, accidents have shown that there are some safety concerns regarding nuclear energy that need to be continuously assessed and further improved. READ MORE

  5. 5. Development of Encapsulated UN-UO₂ Accident Tolerant Fuel

    Author : Diogo Ribeiro Costa; Pär Olsson; Janne Wallenius; Simon Middleburgh; Magnus Limbäck; Denise Adorno Lopes; Ho Jin Ryu; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Accident tolerant fuel; UN-UO2 composite fuel; coating technology; powder coating; chemical vapour deposition CVD ; physical vapour deposition PVD ; UN spheres; spark plasma sintering; Kärnenergiteknik; Nuclear Engineering;

    Abstract : Accident tolerant fuels (ATFs) are designed to endure a severe accident in the reactor core longer than the standard UO2-Zr alloy systems used in light water reactors (LWRs). Composite fuels such as UN-UO2 are being considered as an ATF concept to address the lower oxidation resistance of the UN fuel from a safety perspective for use in LWRs, whilst improving the in-reactor behaviour of the UO2 fuel.
