  1. 16. Upscaling and Evaluation of Absorption Based Systems for Co-removal of NOx and SOx from Flue Gases

    Author : Jakob Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; absorption; gas-phase oxidation; scale-up; Emissions control; SOx; NOx; ClO2;

    Abstract : As long as combustion remains a vital part of the energy system, the removal of nitrogen oxides (NOx) will be a challenge that will need to be addressed. In addition, emissions of sulfur oxides (SOx) will be a problem as long as fuels such as coal and oil are used, as is envisaged in every road map suggested by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC). 2. 17. The open absorption system : energy savings in different applications

    Author : Lars Johansson; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : The open absorption system is a technique that makes it possible to recover energy in different processes using moist air. In most applications the latent heat in moist air is difficult to recover because of the low temperature. Processes using outdoor air to carry away moisture therefore have high energy demands. 3. 18. Hydrothermal Processing of Cereals Optimal Conditions for Phytete Degradation and Myo-Inositol Formation. Effect on Phytase Activity and Mineral Absorption

    Author : Eva-Lotta Bergman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; rye; rice; barley; wheat; myo-inositol; calcium absorption; phytase; hydrothermal processing; zinc absorption; phytate;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to optimise a hydrothermal process to degrade phytate (myo-inositol hexaphosphate), increase the level of free myo-inositol and preserve phytase activity in cereals with the purpose to achieve products with improved mineral bioavailability. Phytate is known to impair mineral absorption and myo-inositol is considered to be a semi-essential nutrient. READ MORE

  4. 19. Light Propagation and Gas Absorption Studies in Turbid Media Using Tunable Diode Llaser Techniques

    Author : Liang Mei; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; gas in scattering media absorption spectroscopy; tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy; frequency modulated light scattering interferometry; light propagation; Absorption spectroscopy; turbid media; diode laser; gas monitoring; porous media; ceramics; food packaging; Fysicumarkivet A:2014:Mei;

    Abstract : Optical absorption spectroscopy is a widely used analytical tool for constituent analysis in many applications. According to the Beer-Lambert law, the transmitted light intensity through a homogeneous medium is an exponential function of the product of the concentration, the total pathlength, and the absorption cross-section of the absorbing substance.
