  1. 21. Vector Representations of Idioms in Data-Driven Chatbots for Robust Assistance

    Author : Oluwatosin Adewumi; Marcus Liwicki; Foteini Liwicki; Taiwo Kolajo; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; conversational system; chatbot; vectors; data; deep models; Maskininlärning; Machine Learning;

    Abstract : This thesis presents resources capable of enhancing solutions of some Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks, demonstrates the learning of abstractions by deep models through cross-lingual transferability, and shows how deep learning models trained on idioms can enhance open-domain conversational systems. The challenges of open-domain conversational systems are many and include bland repetitive utterances, lack of utterance diversity, lack of training data for low-resource languages, shallow world-knowledge and non-empathetic responses, among others. 2. 22. Compositional Approaches in Supervisory Control with Application to Automatic Generation of Robot Interlocking Policies

    Author : Hugo Flordal; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nonblocking; finite state automata; verification; controllability; Discrete event systems; model reduction; synthesis; interlocking; supervisory control;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis concerns verification and synthesis in the Ramadge and Wonham supervisory control framework. Supervisory control constitutes a formal framework for the design of supervisors for discrete event systems. READ MORE

  3. 23. Compile-time Safety and Runtime Performance in Programming Frameworks for Distributed Systems

    Author : Lars Kroll; Seif Haridi; Jim Dowling; Peter Van Roy; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; distributed systems; distributed computing; programming systems; programming languages; computer science; domain specific languages; message-passing; actor model; component model; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Distributed Systems, that is systems that must tolerate partial failures while exploiting parallelism, are a fundamental part of the software landscape today. Yet, their development and design still pose many challenges to developers when it comes to reliability and performance, and these challenges often have a negative impact on developer productivity. 4. 24. Model-checking and Model-based Testing of Automotive Embedded Systems : Starting from the System Architecture

    Author : Raluca Marinescu; Cristina Seceleanu; Bernhard Aichernig; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Nowadays, modern vehicles are equipped with electrical and electronic systems that implement highly complex functions such as anti-lock braking or cruise control. The use of such embedded systems in the automotive domain requires a revised development process that addresses their particular features. READ MORE

  5. 25. Functional Programming for Securing Cloud and Embedded Environments

    Author : Abhiroop Sarkar; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; trusted execution environment; real time; functional programming; runtime; information flow control; microcontrollers; functional reactive programming;

    Abstract : The ubiquity of digital systems across all aspects of modern society, while beneficial, has simultaneously exposed a lucrative attack surface for potential adversaries and attackers. Consequently, securing digital systems becomes of critical importance. READ MORE
