  2. 2. Managing Migration Flows by processing Personal Data within the adequate Data Protection Instrument : Scoping Exercise between general and law enforcement Data Protection Rules applicable to Third Country Nationals

    Author : Teresa Quintel; Maria Bergström; Wojciech Wiewiórowski; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; EU data protection; third country nationals; immigration; Directive EU 2016 680; Regulation EU 2018 1725; Europarätt; European Integration Law;

    Abstract : In the aftermath of increased migration flows coming to Europe in 2015, the so-called migration crisis, irregular migration and related crimes such as migrant smuggling and human trafficking became a hotly debated topic on European Union (EU) level. The results of those discussions were the fortification of the EU’s external borders, the strengthening of the mandate of relevant EU Agencies and the establishment of new databases in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (AFSJ). 3. 3. Complexity and expressiveness for formal structures in Natural Language Processing

    Author : Petter Ericson; Henrik Björklund; Frank Drewes; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; graph grammars; formal languages; natural language processing; parameterized complexity; abstract meaning representation; tree automata; deterministic tree-walking transducers; mildly context-sensitive languages; hyperedge replacement; tree adjoining languages; minimally adequate teacher;

    Abstract : The formalized and algorithmic study of human language within the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) has motivated much theoretical work in the related field of formal languages, in particular the subfields of grammar and automata theory. Motivated and informed by NLP, the papers in this thesis explore the connections between expressibility – that is, the ability for a formal system to define complex sets of objects – and algorithmic complexity – that is, the varying amount of effort required to analyse and utilise such systems. 4. 4. Order-preserving graph grammars

    Author : Petter Ericson; Henrik Björklund; Frank Drewes; Sebastian Maneth; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Graph grammars; graph parsing; graph series; hyperedge replacement; uniform parsing problem; abstract meaning representation; semantic modelling; order preservation; reentrancy preservation; minimally adequate teacher; weighted graph grammars;

    Abstract : The field of semantic modelling concerns formal models for semantics, that is, formal structures for the computational and algorithmic processing of meaning. This thesis concerns formal graph languages motivated by this field. READ MORE

  5. 5. Endovascular Treatment of Complex Aortic Pathologies – The Importance of Adequate Patient Selection and Thorough Evaluation of Novel Techniques
