  1. 1. Improved remaining useful life estimations for on-condition parts in aircraft engines

    Author : Veronica Fornlöf; Anna Syberfeldt; Anders Skoogh; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Aircraft engine maintenance; Reliability; Remaining useful life; On-condition parts; Prognosis; Technology; Teknik; Production and Automation Engineering; Produktion och automatiseringsteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on obtaining better estimates of remaining life for on-condition (OC) parts in aircraft engines. Aircraft engine components are commonly classified into three categories, life-limited parts (LLP), OC-parts and consumables. Engine maintenance typi-cally accounts for 10% to 20% of aircraft-related operating cost. READ MORE

  2. 2. Work and Technology Use in Centers of Coordination : Reflections on the relationship between situated practice and artifact design

    Author : Maria Normark; Kerstin Severinsson Eklundh; Susanne Bødker; KTH; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sociology; Sociologi; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : The research problem explored in this thesis is how technology and work practice are related in coordinative situations (collocated and over distance). Further, the problem of how this kind of research results can be transformed and used in the development of new technology is discussed. READ MORE

  3. 3. Aircraft Design Automation and Subscale Testing : With Special Reference to Micro Air Vehicles

    Author : David Lundström; Petter Krus; Jean- Marc Moschetta; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This dissertation concerns how design automation as well as rapid prototyping and testing of subscale prototypes can support aircraft design. A framework for design automation has been developed and is applied specifically to Micro Air Vehicles (MAV). READ MORE

  4. 4. Impact of Weather on Air Traffic Control

    Author : Anastasia Lemetti; Valentin Polishchuk; Tatiana Polishchuk; Junzi Sun; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Weather has a strong impact on Air Traffic Management (ATM). Inefficient weather avoidance procedures and inaccurate prognosis lead to longer aircraft routes and, as a result, to fuel waste and increased negative environmental impact. READ MORE

  5. 5. Optimization of Aircraft Arrival Operations for Improved Environmental Efficiency

    Author : Henrik Hardell; Tatiana Polishchuk; Valentin Polishchuk; Ramon Dalmau-Codina; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The transportation sector, accounting for about one fifth of all greenhouse gas emissions, is facing a significant transformation in order to become more climate-friendly. In terms of air transportation, there are several important steps on the way to making flying sustainable both for the planet itself and for people directly or indirectly being exposed to its effects.
