  1. 1. Functional Metal Oxide Materials Deposited by Inkjet Printing Technique

    Author : Yan Wu; Lyubov Belova; Gillian Gehring; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Inkjet printing; photoconductivity; ZnO; Al-ZnO; composite; electron transfer; CdS; field effect transistor; photosensitive; RT do-ferromagnetism; Mn-doped ZnO; MgO; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a comprehensive study of the intrinsic room temperature ferromagnetism in 85 to 100nm thin films produced by in situ deposition of industrially important pristine MgO and ZnO by inkjet printing. It is suggested that the observed long range magnetic order, the so-called do magnetism in these oxides arises from cation vacancies. READ MORE

  2. 2. Deposition of Al-doped ZnO films by high power impulse magnetron sputtering

    Author : Martin Mickan; David Horwat; Ulf Helmersson; Aline Rougier; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) are an important class of materials with many applications such as low emissivity coatings, or transparent electrodes for photovoltaics and flat panel displays. Among the possible TCO materials, Al-doped ZnO (AZO) is studied due to its relatively low cost and abundance of the raw materials. READ MORE

  3. 3. Density Functional Theory Applied to Materials for Spintronics

    Author : Diana Mihaela Iusan; Olle Eriksson; Biplab Sanyal; Hiroshi Katayama-Yoshida; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spintronics; dilute magnetic semiconductors; density functional theory; exchange interactions; magnetic percolation; ordering temperature; disorder; electronic structure; Physics; Fysik; Materialvetenskap; Materials Science;

    Abstract : The properties of dilute magnetic semiconductors have been studied by combined ab initio, Monte Carlo, and experimental techniques. This class of materials could be very important for future spintronic devices, that offer enriched functionality by making use of both the spin and the charge of the electrons. READ MORE

  4. 4. Graphene-based nanocomposites for electronics and photocatalysis

    Author : Ebrahim Chalangar; Håkan Pettersson; Magnus Willander; Omer Nour; Maria Messing; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Graphene; Zinc oxide; Silver iodine; Plasmonics; Nanocomposites; Conjugated electronics; Photocatalysis; Photodegradation;

    Abstract : The development of future electronics depends on the availability of suitable functional materials. Printed electronics, for example, relies on access to highly conductive, inexpensive and printable materials, while strong light absorption and low carrier recombination rates are demanded in photocatalysis industry. 5. 5. First Principle Studies of Functional Materials : Spintronics, Hydrogen Storage and Cutting Tools

    Author : Fredrik Silvearv; Ahuja Rajeev; Ali Zaoui; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : spintronics; hydrogen storage; coating materials; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Abstract : The properties of functional materials have been studied with density functional theory. The first type of materials that have been investigated is the so called diluted magnetic semiconductors. It is a new class of materials that could offer enhanced functionality by making use of spin in addition to the charge of the electron. READ MORE
