1. Modelling of laser-based powder bed fusion for bulk metallic glass formation
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis aims to develop a modelling approach to predict crystalline phase evolution in bulk metallic glass during additive manufacturing with laser-based powder bed fusion (PBF-LB). Metallic glasses are non-crystalline metallic materials that generally possess exceptional properties because of its amorphous struc-ture. READ MORE

2. Fractures of the distal radius : Factors related to radiographic evaluation, conservative treatment and fracture healing
Abstract : Distal radius fractures (DRFs) are one of the most common injuries encountered in orthopaedic practise. Such fractures are most often treated conservatively, but surgical treatment has become increasingly common. READ MORE

3. Nanopolysaccharide coatings for functional surfaces in water-treatment materials : From mechanisms to process scalability
Abstract : In this thesis, materials from renewable resources were used to develop functionalized surfaces for water treatment. The work is thus inspired by, and contributes to, the United Nations sustainable goals of: (i) clean water and sanitation, (ii) climate action, (iii) responsible consumption and production, (iv) life below water, and (v) partnerships for the goals. 4. Effects of nitric oxide on hemostasis with special attention to platelet function
Abstract : Endogenous endothelium-derived NO provides a continuous vasodilating effect, but may also in humans have an antithrombotic effect, which is exerted by inhibition of platelet function and by vasodilatation. Inhalation of NO selectively relaxes the pulmonary vascular bed, without causing systemic hypotension. READ MORE
