  2. 2. Development and Application of Pure Rotational CARS for Reactive Flows

    Author : Alexis Bohlin; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Raman linewidths; gas-phase thermometry; combustion diagnostics; laser spectroscopy techniques; coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering; molecular spectroscopy; Herman-Wallis factor; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Bohlin;

    Abstract : The thesis deals with the further development of pure rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (RCARS) for improving the capabilities of gas phase thermometry. The main effort has been to make the technique more robust when employed under a wide range of temperatures and operational conditions. READ MORE

  3. 3. Studies on rotavirus replication

    Author : Alexis Fuentes; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Abstract : Rotavirus is the leading cause of dehydrating diarrhea in infants and young children globally. In cells infected with rotavirus SA11 the synthesis of viral RNA and protein predominated already after a few hours. Cellular RNA remained intact, but viral mRNA was preferentially utilised for protein synthesis. READ MORE

  4. 4. Magnetic fields of cool stars from near-infrared spectropolarimetry

    Author : Alexis Lavail; Oleg Kochukhov; Nikolai Piskunov; Gaitee Hussain; Jeff Valenti; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stars: magnetic field; stars: pre-main-sequence; stars: late-type; techniques: spectroscopic; techniques: polarimetric; Astronomy; Astronomi;

    Abstract : Magnetic fields rule many physical processes in and around stars throughout their lifetime. All cool stars possess a magnetic field, likely generated by dynamo processes. In order to properly understand the evolution of cool stars, we need to understand their magnetism. READ MORE
