  1. 1. Identification of Time Varying Systems and Application of System Identification to Signal Processing

    Author : Alf Isaksson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System identification; Time varying systems; Signal processing;

    Abstract : Part IA new approach to identification of time varying systems is presented, and evaluated using computer simulations. The new approach is built upon the similarities between recursive least squares identification and Kalman filtering. READ MORE

  2. 2. On System Identification in one and two Dimensions with Signal Processing Applications

    Author : Alf Isaksson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System identification; Signal processing;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of four parts, with system identification as the common theme. The first part studies the asymptotic properties of two-dimensional identification methods. In the second part an approach to identification of time varying systems is presented. READ MORE

  3. 3. Modelling the Moisture Content of Multi-Ply Paperboard in the Paper Machine Drying Section

    Author : Christelle Gaillemard; Anders Lindquist; ALf Isaksson; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Drying section modelling; multi-ply paperboard; moisture content; identification; grey-box modelling; Optimization; systems theory; Optimeringslära; systemteori;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a grey-box model of the temperature and moisture content for each layer of the multi-ply paperboard inside the drying section of a paper mill. The distribution of the moisture inside the board is an important variable for the board quality, but is unfortunately not measured on-line. READ MORE

  4. 4. Averaging level control in the presence of frequent inlet flow upsets

    Author : Peter Rosander; Alf J. Isaksson; Johan Löfberg; Morten Hovd; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Averaging level control; PI control; Surge tanks; Optimal control; Robust MPC; Process control;

    Abstract : Buffer tanks are widely used within the process industry to prevent flow variations from being directly propagated throughout a plant. The capacity of the tank is used to smoothly transfer inlet flow upsets to the outlet. Ideally, the tank thus works as a low pass filter where the available tank capacity limits the achievable flow smoothing. READ MORE

  5. 5. Optimization Algorithms for System Analysis and Identification

    Author : Ragnar Wallin; Alf Isaksson; Anders Hansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Optimization is a powerful and frequently used tool in many fields of research. In this thesis two relevant and important problems from robust control system analysis and system identification are solved using optimization algorithms. READ MORE
