16. Mineral dissolution from molecular to field scale
Abstract : Mineral reactivity contributes to the global biogeochemical cycling of elements. CO2is consumed during the chemical weathering of many silicates and during formation of carbonates in the oceans. READ MORE

17. Sustainable phosphorus removal in onsite wastewater treatment
Abstract : Aquatic eutrophication is a serious environmental problem that occurs all over the world. To protect surface waters (in particular the Baltic Sea), the regulatory pressure on onsite wastewater treatment (OWT) systems have increased in Sweden. READ MORE

18. Pressure, temperature and time constraints on tectonic models for southwestern Sweden
Abstract : In this work, a number of key localities have been investigated in detail in order to provide precise constraints on models for the tectonic evolution of southern Sweden. The new data presented in this thesis show that there are large differences in terms of pre-Sveconorwegian tectonic evolution between the Eastern and Median-Western Segments situated on either side of the Mylonite Zone, a major shear zone as well as a structural and lithological boundary. 19. Computational Studies of Hydrogen Storage Materials : Physisorbed and Chemisorbed Systems
Abstract : This thesis deals with first-principles calculations based on density functional theory to investigate hydrogen storage related properties in various high-surface area materials and the ground state crystal structures in alkaline earth dicarbide systems. High-surface area materials have been shown to be very promising for hydrogen storage applications owing to them containing numerous hydrogen adsorption sites and good kinetics for adsorption/desorption. 20. Nonlinear Optical Materials Structural Studies of Alkali Titanium Phosphates
Abstract : Crystals are beautiful, not only as pieces of jewellery, but also for their intrinsic properties, which are of significant scientific and technological importance. Ferroelectric materials are extremely versatile, since they may be combined with piezoelectric or electrooptic devices for use as filters, oscillators, memories, light detectors, and displays.
