  1. 1. Alpha-Synuclein Oligomers Cellular Mechanisms and Aspects of Antibody Treatment

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Gabriel Gustafsson; Uppsala universitet.; [2017]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Parkinson s Disease; Alpha-synuclein; Aggregation; Oligomers; Monoclonal Antibody; Glia; Astrocyte; Immunofluorescence; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Abstract : In Parkinson’s disease (PD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), aggregated α-synuclein deposit inside cells within the brain. Smaller soluble α-synuclein aggregates, oligomers, are present both intra- and extracellularly. READ MORE

  2. 2. On Alpha-decay and Alpha Clustering

    University dissertation from Zagreb University

    Author : Gordana Dodig-Crnkovic; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [1988]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The half-life for the Alpha-decay of 212 Po is calculated within a harmonic oscillator representation. Clustering induced by the nuclear interaction appear by considering a large configuration space. The role of clusterisation in the alpha-decay process is clearly demonstrated. READ MORE

  3. 3. Molecular characterization and evolution of alpha-actinin from protozoa to vertebrates

    University dissertation from Umeå : Kemi

    Author : Ana Virel; Umeå universitet.; [2006]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; alpha-actinin; evolution; spectrin repeat; intragene duplication; phylogenetic tree; spectrin superfamily; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Biochemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Biokemi;

    Abstract : alpha-actinin is a ubiquitous protein found in most eukaryotic organisms. The ability to form dimers allows alpha-actinin to cross-link actin in different structures. In muscle cells alpha-actinin is found at the Z-disk of sarcomeres. READ MORE

  4. 4. Characterization of Physiological and Pathological Alpha-Synuclein Implications for Parkinson’s Disease and Related Disorders

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Leire Almandoz Gil; Uppsala universitet.; [2018]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Alpha-synuclein; Aggregation; Parkinson’s disease; Dementia with Lewy bodies; Oxidative stress; Antibodies; Synapses; SNARE; Molekylär medicin; Molecular Medicine;

    Abstract : Aggregated alpha-synuclein is the main component of Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites, intraneuronal inclusions found in the brains of Parkinson’s disease (PD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) patients (synucleinopathies). Alpha-synuclein is a presynaptic protein, which is most commonly an unfolded monomer in its physiological state. READ MORE

  5. 5. Biofeedback of EEG alpha : methodological aspects and theoretical considerations

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Psychology, University of Stockholm

    Author : Sarah S. Knox; Stockholms universitet.; [1981]
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psykofysik;

    Abstract : .... READ MORE
