  1. 1. Copper and Manganese-based Oxygen Carriers in Chemical-Looping Combustion (CLC) and Chemical-Looping with Oxygen Uncoupling (CLOU)

    Author : Mehdi Arjmand; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The chemical-looping combustion (CLC) and chemical-looping with oxygen uncoupling (CLOU) processes are attractive solutions for efficient combustion with inherent separation of carbon dioxide. These processes use a metal oxide as an oxygen carrier to transfer oxygen from an air to a fuel reactor where the fuel, or gasification products of the fuel, is converted. READ MORE

  2. 2. Autotrophic and heterotrophic culture of Nordic microalgae in wastewater for lipid production

    Author : Jean Claude Nzayisenga; Anita Sellstedt; Francesco G. Gentili; Christiane Funk; Ashton Keith Cowan; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : It is well established that society’s main means for producing energy, the combustion of fossil fuels, is unsustainable and contributes to global warming. Microalgae have high potential for the production of biodiesel and energy source that can at least partially replace fossil fuels. READ MORE

  3. 3. Production planning of CHP plants integrated with bioethanol production and local renewables

    Author : Mahsa Daraei; Eva Thorin; Anders Avelin; Erik Dotzauer; Natasa Nord; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CHP; Energy systems; Optimization; Polygeneration; Production planning; Renewable resources; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : Production planning of an energy system is dependent on parameters such as energy demand and energy conversion technologies, which are influential in making decisions on operation strategy and optimal performance of the system. In accordance with the European Union energy policy, the share of renewable resources in the energy supply is growing. READ MORE

  4. 4. Automated Production Technologies and Measurement Systems for Ferrite Magnetized Linear Generators

    Author : Tobias Kamf; Mats Leijon; Jonas Öhr; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; industrial robotics; automation; self-sensing; calibration; ferrite; linear generator; wave energy; offshore; measurements; electronics; kinetic energy storage; reluctance motor; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Abstract : The interest in breaking the historical dependence on fossil energy and begin moving towards more renewable energy sources is rising worldwide. This is largely due to uncertainties in the future supply of fossil fuels and the rising concerns about humanity’s role in the currently ongoing climate changes. READ MORE

  5. 5. Screening of oxygen-carrier particles based on iron-, manganese-, copper- and nickel oxides for use in chemical-looping technologies

    Author : Marcus Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Oxygen Carrier; Carbon Dioxide Capture; Chemical-Looping Combustion; Chemical-Looping Reforming; Nickel Oxide; Iron Oxide; Copper Oxide; Manganese Oxide;

    Abstract : Capture and storage of carbon dioxide from combustion will likely be used in the future as a method of reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and thus be part of the overall strategy to stabilize the atmospheric levels of CO2. Chemical-looping combustion is a method of combustion where CO2 is inherently separated from the non-condensable components in the flue gas without the need for an energy intensive air separation unit.
