  1. 1. Amperometric Biosensors for Detection of Analytes in Cellular Models

    Author : Jaime Castillo Leon; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; Simultaneous detection; Bienzyme electrode; Amperometric biosensors; Cellular models; Analytisk kemi; Electrochemistry; Elektrokemi;

    Abstract : Various biological problems such as disease mechanisms, drug development and toxicological studies motivated the introduction of cellular models that today also represent an alternative for reducing the use of animals in controversial medical and pharmaceutical experiments. Cells are complex matrices where several processes occur simultaneously. READ MORE

  2. 2. Biosensor-based Methods for Detection of Microcystins as Early Warning Systems

    Author : Lesedi Lebogang; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Microcystins; Drinking water; Adda-specific monoclonal antibodies; Biosensors; Capacitive; Amperometric; Flow-ELISA; Microcontact imprinting;

    Abstract : Cyanobacteria blooms are a water menace since they produce potent toxins that have been implicated in poisonings and deaths of humans and animals after consumption or contact with cyanotoxin-contaminated water. Of particular concern are cyanotoxins called microcystins, which are hepatotoxic cyclic peptides known to promote development of liver tumors in humans and animals. READ MORE

  3. 3. Amperometric biosensors of food analysis relevance: Emphasis on the neurotoxin beta-ODAP in grass pea

    Author : Yirgalem Yigzaw; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Elektrokemi; Electrochemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; neurotoxin; Amperometric biosensors; Lathyrus sativus;

    Abstract : Enzyme-based amperometric biosensors have been developed and characterized in flow systems for a variety of analytes such as [beta]-N-oxalyl-[alfa],[beta]-diamionpropionic acid ([beta]-ODAP), L-glutamate, glucose, lactate, and sucrose, that have food analysis relevance. The principle of enzyme "wiring" using polymeric mediators poly(1-vinylimidazole) {(Os-4, 4' dimethylbipyridyl)2Cl3+/2+} and poly(4-vinlypyridine {Os(N,N'-dimethyl-2,2'-biimidazole)3}3+/2+ has been employed in most of the sensors developed, which resulted in the fabrication of sensitive, stable and reproducible biosensors with carbonaceous electrodes (spectrographic graphite and glassy carbon). 4. 4. Amperometric biosensor-based microsystems for detecting analytes of biomedical importance

    Author : Szilveszter Gaspar; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biotechnology; microelectrodes; enzyme electrodes; SECM; biomedicine; µTAS; microsystems; biosensors; electrochemical detection; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : Monitoring in the biomedical field is rapidly emerging as the most important application area of miniaturized analytical devices. Diagnostics, disease monitoring, drug development, and medical research are important areas taking full advantage of the short response time, reduced sample consumption, low costs, and reduced power requirements of miniaturized analytical tools. 5. 5. Enzyme-Based Amperometric Biosensors in Flow-Systems for Biomolecule Detection

    Author : Niklas Larsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Microdialysis; Liquid chromatography; Flow injection; Polyelectrolytes; Carbohydrate; Mediator; Dehydrogenase; Peroxidase; Oxidase; Enzyme; Amperometric detection; Carbon paste; Biosensor; Graphite electrode; On-line monitoring; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Amperometric enzyme based biosensors were designed, developed and characterised in flow systems. Solid graphite and carbon paste electrodes were used as support for enzyme immobilisation. Both mediated and direct electron transfers between redox enzymes and electrodes were utilised for biosensor construction, as well as coupled enzyme systems. READ MORE
