1. The measurement of chemical persistence in lakes using benchmarking techniques
Abstract : The persistence of a chemical that indicates resistance to degradation is one of the core criteria for exposure and hazard assessment of chemicals. However, it is rarely measured in the real environment because of the lack of appropriate methods. READ MORE

2. Atomistic simulations of structural and dynamical properties of liquids under geometric constraints
Abstract : The statistical-mechanical description of liquids represents a formidable problem in physic due to the absence of the analytical theory of the liquid state. Atomistic simulations represent a unique source of information in this respect and can be implemented in order address macroscopically measurable liquid properties, including its structure and dynamics, based on the information of the interactions between its constituent molecules. 3. Properties of heavy rainfall in an East Asian monsoon catchment - Analysis of daily rain gauge data
Abstract : The East Asian monsoon has a strong seasonal effect on the rainfall regime of Eastern China. In order to mitigate floods and conserve the water for use throughout the year, dams and other hydro-structures are built. The design of the structures requires knowledge of the rainfall characteristics that influence the inflow to them. READ MORE

4. Nuclear magnetic resonance studies of water self-diffusion in porous systems
Abstract : Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) was used to study the self-diffusion of water in porous systems that respond to a change in water content in order to elucidate the porous structure and the properties of the confined water. In the carbohydrate systems cellulose fibers and starch granules, water is free to move throughout the porous objects, albeit with a rate reduced from the value of the bulk liquid, The reduction is related to the tortuosity of the pore space filled by water. 5. From recovery boiler to integration of a textile fiber plant : Combination of mass balance analysis and chemical engineering
Abstract : Modern chemical technology is an efficient tool for solving problems, particularly within the complex environment of the pulp and paper industry, and the combination of experimental studies, mill data and mass balance calculations are of fundamental importance to the development of the industry. In this study various examples are presented, whereby chemical technology is of fundamental importance. READ MORE
