16. Liquid Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry Analysis of Short-lived Tracers in Biological Matrices : Exploration of Radiotracer Chemistry as an Analytical Tool
Abstract : Liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry (LC-MS) methods were developed for the analysis of positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracers in biological matrices. Additionally, radiotracer chemistry was explored as an analytical tool for supporting LC-MS method development and imaging molecular interactions in miniaturised chemical analysis systems. READ MORE

17. Miniaturised Bioanalytical Chemistry in Acoustically Levitated Droplets
Abstract : Fuelled by the current demands of the biological sciences, there is today a growing interest in microscale analysis. Miniaturisation of analytical instruments has become a long-standing trend. Miniaturisation offers several advantages, including rapid separation times, high performance and throughput, reduced costs, etc. READ MORE

18. Synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of emerging synthetic cannabinoids and cathinones
Abstract : The application of different analytical techniques is fundamental in forensic drug analysis. In the wake of the occurrence of large numbers of new psychoactive substances possessing similar chemical structures as already known ones, focus has been placed on applied criteria for their univocal identification. 19. Structural Studies of Hyaluronan Hydrogels
Abstract : Hydrogels consist of cross-linked polymer networks with the ability to absorb large amounts of water. In this thesis, the structures of hydrogels consisting of hyaluronic acid (HA) cross-linked by 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE) have been investigated. READ MORE

20. Chemically Modified Metal Oxide Nanostructures Electrodes for Sensing and Energy Conversion
Abstract : The goal of this thesis is the development of scalable, low cost synthesis of metal oxide nanostructures based electrodes and to correlate the chemical modifications with their energy conversion performance. Methods in energy conversion in this thesis have focused on two aspects; a potentiometric chemical sensor was used to determine the analytical concentration of some components of the analyte solution such as dopamine, glucose and glutamate molecules.
