  1. 21. Analytical method development in liquid chromatography- mass spectrometry based metabolomics

    Author : Ida Erngren; Mikael Hedeland; Curt Pettersson; Torbjörn Arvidsson; Gérard Hopfgartner; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Analytical pharmaceutical chemistry; metabolomics; liquid chromatography; mass spectrometry; hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Analytisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : Metabolomics is the analytical field which aims at analyzing all small molecules, metabolites, in a biological system simultaneously. Currently no analytical methods are able to capture the entire metabolome, therefore, the analytical methods are often developed to be as general as possible. READ MORE

  2. 22. Evaluation of a Miniaturized Rotating Disk Apparatus for In Vitro Dissolution Rate Measurements in Aqueous Media : Correlation of In Vitro Dissolution Rate with Apparent Solubility

    Author : Anita M. Persson; Curt Pettersson; Anders Sokolowski; Anders Karlsson; Alex Avdeef; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; analytical methods; HPLC high-performance liquid chromatography ; miniaturization; in vitro dissolution rate; apparent solubility; physicochemical properties; dissolution media; correlation study; chemometrics; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Analytisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : The general aim of this thesis was to evaluate a newly designed and constructed miniaturized rotating disk apparatus for in vitro dissolution rate measurements of different drug substances from all of the classes in the Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS). The new equipment is based on a low volume flow-through cell of Plexiglas, a gold plated magnetic bar and a special designed press. READ MORE

  3. 23. Capillary electroseparations in pharmaceutical analysis of basic drugs and related substances

    Author : Anna Maria Enlund; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; analytisk farmaceutisk kemi; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry;

    Abstract : Capillary electroseparation methods are exciting new techniques with very broad application areas and vast potential in pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis. To improve the limit of detection (LOD) capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) has been combined with isotachophoretic (ITP) preconcentration in a single capillary. READ MORE

  4. 24. Fundamental Investigations of Supercritical Fluid Chromatography

    Author : Martin Enmark; Torgny Fornstedt; Arvind Rajendran; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Supercritical Fluid Chromatography; SFC; Modeling; Adsorption Isotherms; Scale-up; Peak Distortion; Injection; Design of Experiments; Perturbation Peak Method; Elution by Characteristic Points Method; Method transfer; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis aims at a deeper understanding of Supercritical FluidChromatography (SFC). Although preparative SFC has started to replace Liquid Chromatography (LC) in the pharmaceutical industry - because of its advantages in speed and its less environmental impact - fundamental understanding is still lacking. 5. 25. Multivariate spectroscopic methods for the analysis of solutions

    Author : Kent Wiberg; Sven Jacobsson; Lars Nørgaard; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemometrics; UV-Vis spectroscopy; Multivariate calibration; Lidocaine; Identity; Content; PLS; SIMCA; Non-column; Diode array UV spectroscopy; DAD; Control sample; High Capacity Analysis HCA ; Fluorescence spectroscopy; Albumin; Immunoglobulin G; HPLC-DAD; Prilocaine; Peak purity determination; PCA; PARAFAC; Partial separation; Curve resolution; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : In this thesis some multivariate spectroscopic methods for the analysis of solutions are proposed. Spectroscopy and multivariate data analysis form a powerful combination for obtaining both quantitative and qualitative information and it is shown how spectroscopic techniques in combination with chemometric data evaluation can be used to obtain rapid, simple and efficient analytical methods.
