  1. 1. Orthodontic anchorage : evidence-based evaluation of anchorage capacity and patients' perceptions

    Author : Ingalill Feldmann; Malmö högskola; []

    Abstract : Orthodontic anchorage is the ability to resist unwanted reciprocalforces and reinforcement of anchorage by supplementary appliances,in or outside the mouth, is often needed to obtain successful results.In the last 10 years, interest in appliances that use implants has beengrowing. 3. 3. Anchorage of Corroded Reinforcement in Existing Concrete Structures: Experimental Study

    Author : Mohammad Tahershamsi; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; anchorage; reinforced concrete structures; structural behaviour; natural corrosion; Bond properties; experiments; load-carrying capacity.;

    Abstract : The decrease in bond capacity and its relationship to the crack widths and patterns documented were studied for both the naturally corroded specimens tested in this study and artificial corrosion tests from the literature. A reduction of bond strength with increasingly maximal crack widths was observed in both types of tests. READ MORE

  4. 4. Anchorage in Concrete Structures : Numerical and Experimental Evaluations of Load-Carrying Capacity of Cast-in-Place Headed Anchors and Post-Installed Adhesive Anchors

    Author : Rasoul Nilforoush; Lennart Elfgren; Norbert Randl; Karin Lundgren; Manouchehr Hassanzadeh; Richard Malm; Lars-Erik Persson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Headed anchor; Anchor bolt; Adhesive anchor; Concrete cone breakout; Concrete splitting; Pullout loading; Size effect; Member thickness; Anchor head size; Orthogonal surface reinforcement; Concrete Strength; High-strength concrete; Cracked concrete; Steel fiber-reinforced concrete; Sustained loading; Creep behavior; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : Various anchorage systems including both cast-in-place and post-installed anchors have been developed for fastening both non-structural and structural components to concrete structures. The need for increased flexibility in the design of new structures and strengthening of existing concrete structures has led to increased use of various metallic anchors in practice. READ MORE

  5. 5. Bond and Anchorage of Ribbed Bars in High-Strength Concrete

    Author : Jonas Magnusson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : non-linear finite element analysis; high-strength concrete; anchorage; ribbed bars; beam tests; bond; confinement; normal strength concrete; pull-out tests;

    Abstract : For structural utilisation of high-strength concrete, a good understanding of the bond and anchorage behaviours of ribbed bars in this specific material is essential. The research project aims to increase the knowledge of bond and anchorage behaviours of ribbed bars in high-strength concrete. READ MORE
