  1. 1. On Structure Exploiting Numerical Algorithms for Model Predictive Control

    Author : Isak Nielsen; Daniel Axehill; Anders Hansson; Pontus Giselsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : One of the most common advanced control strategies used in industry today is Model Predictive Control (MPC), and some reasons for its success are that it can handle multivariable systems and constraints on states and control inputs in a structured way. At each time-step in the MPC control loop the control input is computed by solving a constrained finite-time optimal control (CFTOC) problem on-line. READ MORE

  2. 2. Structure-Exploiting Numerical Algorithms for Optimal Control

    Author : Isak Nielsen; Daniel Axehill; Anders Hansson; Eric Kerrigan; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Numerical Optimal Control; Model Predictive Control; Riccati Recursion; Parallel Algorithms; Low-Rank Modifications; Parametric Programming; Optimization; Explicit MPC; Moving Horizon Estimation; Partial Condensing;

    Abstract : Numerical algorithms for efficiently solving optimal control problems are important for commonly used advanced control strategies, such as model predictive control (MPC), but can also be useful for advanced estimation techniques, such as moving horizon estimation (MHE). In MPC, the control input is computed by solving a constrained finite-time optimal control (CFTOC) problem on-line, and in MHE the estimated states are obtained by solving an optimization problem that often can be formulated as a CFTOC problem. 3. 3. Efficient Simulation and Optimal Control for Vehicle Propulsion

    Author : Anders Fröberg; Lars Nielsen; Karl-Henrik Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Efficient drive cycle simulation of longitudinal vehicle propulsion models is an important aid for design and analysis of power trains. Tools on the market today mainly use two different methods for such simulations, forward dynamic or quasi-static inverse simulation. READ MORE

  4. 4. Capacitance transient measurements on point defects in silicon and silicol carbide

    Author : Hanne Kortegaard Nielsen; Anders Hallén; F. Damie Auret; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronics; Elektronik; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : Electrically active point defects in semiconductor materials are important because they strongly affect material properties like effective doping concentration and charge carrier lifetimes. This thesis presents results on point defects introduced by ion implantation in silicon and silicon carbide. READ MORE

  5. 5. Pharmacometrics to characterize innate immune response and antibacterial treatments

    Author : Anders Thorsted; Lena E. Friberg; Elisabet I. Nielsen; Mats O. Karlsson; Gauri G. Rao; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pharmacometrics; non-linear mixed effects modelling; modelling; pharmacokinetics; pharmacodynamics; pkpd; antibiotics; cefuroxime; piperacillin; phagocytes; lipopolysaccharide; endotoxin; porcine endotoxemia; challenge studies; sepsis; critically ill; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Abstract : The immune system protects the host against pathogens by distinguishing self from non-self. However, it is most-often disregarded in pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PKPD) characterization of (new and old) antibiotics. READ MORE
