21. Calcium Responses in the Renal Afferent Arteriole to Angiotensin II and Norepinephrine Stimulation
Abstract : Studies were performed to investigate the influence of the vasoconstrictors angiotensin II (AII) and norepinephrine (NE) on calcium metabolism in smooth muscle cells of afferent arterioles. Fura-2 and image analysis techniques were used to evaluate calcium responses in the proximal and distal parts of afferent arterioles with attached glomeruli. READ MORE

22. Design and Synthesis of Angiotensin IV Peptidomimetics Targeting the Insulin-Regulated Aminopeptidase (IRAP)
Abstract : Peptidomimetics derived from the bioactive hexapeptide angiotensin IV (Ang IV, Val1-Tyr2-Ile3-His4-Pro5-Phe6) have been designed and synthesized. These peptidomimetics are aimed at inhibiting the insulin-regulated amino peptidase (IRAP), also known as the AT4 receptor. READ MORE

23. Helicobacter pylori associated effects on inflammatory radical formation and angiotensin II receptors in the stomach
Abstract : Helicobacter pylori infection of the stomach always results in mucosal inflammation and a marked systemic immune response. Despite the profound host defence reactions the bacterium avoids elimination and persists in the mucosa. This results in chronic inflammation and an increased risk for peptic ulcers and adenocarcinoma. READ MORE

24. Ligands of the Angiotensin II Type 2 Receptor : Exploring structure and function of the AT2R ligand C38
Abstract : The renin-angiotensin-aldosterone-system (RAAS) control blood-pressure regulation, exerted by the main effector peptide angiotensin II (AngII) binding the angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R). While hypertension is the most known disease caused by over-activity in RAAS, several proteins in the system exhibit protective functions. READ MORE

25. Renal hemodynamics in renal artery stenosis and angiotensin II-dependent hypertension. Pathophysiological and diagnostic aspects
Abstract : Patients with renovascular hypertension have a poor renal and cardiovascular prognosis. To improve the care of these patients, we need to increase knowledge about the pathophysiological mechanisms involved. READ MORE
