21. Ultrafast spin dynamics and relaxation in metallic ferromagnets
Abstract : We performed ultrafast demagnetization measurements on epitaxial hcp-cobalt thin film with the easy axis in the plane of the film by pumping the sample with 400 nm radiation and probing the magneto-optic effects in the longitudinal magneto optic Kerr effect geometry using 800 nm radiation. The in-plane magnetic anisotropy of the sample enabled us to measure the demagnetization dynamics along two different crystalline directions, namely along the easy axis and at 45 degrees between the easy and hard axes. 22. Tunnel Grouting: Engineering Methods for Characterization of Fracture Systems in Hard Rock and Implications for Tunnel Inflow
Abstract : In tunnel construction in hard rock, a common method to reduce water inflow is to perform pre-grouting. The grouting design should be adapted to the current rock mass conditions as well as the stated inflow requirement for the tunnel project. READ MORE

23. Fatigue life prediction of additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloys : Constitutive and crack initiation modelling
Abstract : This dissertation was produced at the Division of Solid Mechanics at Linköping University, and is the final result of a project that included mechanical testing and modelling of an additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloy. The main objective of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate and model the cyclic behaviour and the fatigue life behaviour of an additively manufactured ductile nickel-based superalloy, with emphasis on modelling the stabilised material behaviour, by which fatigue life predictions can be based upon. 24. Models of Mechanics and Growth in Developmental Biology: A Computational Morphodinamics approach
Abstract : Recent evidence has revealed the role of mechanical cues in the development of shapes in organisms. This thesis is an effort to test some of the fundamental hypotheses about the relation between mechanics and patterning in plants. To do this, we develop mechanical models designed to include specific features of plant cell walls. READ MORE

25. Analyses of Seismic Wave Conversion in the Crust and Upper Mantle beneath the Baltic Shield
Abstract : Teleseismic data recorded by broad-band seismic stations in the Swedish National Seismic Network (SNSN) have been used in a suite of studies of seismic wave conversion in order to assess the structure of the crust and upper mantle beneath the Baltic Shield. Signals of seismic waves converted between P and S at seismic discontinuities within the Earth carry information on the velocity contrast at the converting interface, on the depth of conversion and on P and S velocities above this depth.
