6. Quantifying Gait Characteristics and Neurological Effects in people with Spinal Cord Injury using Data-Driven Techniques
Abstract : Spinal cord injury, whether traumatic or nontraumatic, can partially or completely damage sensorimotor pathways between the brain and the body, leading to heterogeneous gait abnormalities. Mobility impairments also depend on other factors such as age, weight, time since injury, pain, and walking aids used. READ MORE

8. Chronic Achilles Tendon Rupture - Perspectives on outcomes after surgical treatment and rehabilitation
Abstract : Chronic Achilles tendon rupture (CATR) is a rupture of the Achilles tendon for which adequate diagnosis and treatment has been delayed after index injury. In this thesis defined as 4 weeks or more. The delay is commonly due to a misdiagnosis by the assessing healthcare professional or because of patient delay. READ MORE

9. Achilles tendon loading and deformation during rehabilitation and use of ankle foot orthoses
Abstract : Achilles tendon rupture is a common injury which most often affects otherwise healthy individuals and which causes long periods of rehabilitation with absence from work and sport activities and frequently sequele with reduced calf muscle performance. The aim of this thesis is to improve understanding of how injury affects the function of the Achilles tendon, and to functionally evaluate different designs of ankle foot orthoses used during rehabilitation after an Achilles tendon rupture. 10. Long-term consequences of anterior cruciate ligament injury : knee function, physical activity level, physical capacity and movement pattern
Abstract : Knee function after more than 20 years post injury is rarely described and none of the few follow-up studies have evaluated functional performance tasks. This thesis investigated self-reported knee function, physical activity level, physical capacity and movement pattern in the long-term perspective (on average 23 years) in persons who had suffered a unilateral ACL injury, treated either with physiotherapy in combination with surgery (ACLR, n=33) or physiotherapy alone (ACLPT, n=37) and compared to age-and-gender matched controls (n=33).
