6. Patient-derived scaffolds as a 3D model for breast cancer
Abstract : Breast cancer is the most common cancer form in women worldwide. Many patients will have recurrent disease and more efficient targeted therapies are needed. The tumor microenvironment is a heterogenous complex mix of cells and components influencing critical cancer processes including progression, signaling and invasion. READ MORE

7. The role of microstructure for crack propagation in cortical bone
Abstract : Healthy cortical bone tissue is both tough and strong and has a unique ability to resist fracture. One reason is the hierarchical structure of the tissue where toughening mechanisms at all length scales act to slow down or stop a propagating crack. READ MORE

8. Thermal response test : numerical simulations and analyses
Abstract : When constructing large borehole heat exchanger (BHE) systems, bedrock and borehole thermal properties are vital for a good design. Today's design programs presume conductive heat transfer in both borehole and bedrock. READ MORE

9. Thermal response tests : influence of convective flow in groundwater filled borehole heat exchanger
Abstract : The main objective of this doctorial thesis was to investigate how thermally induced movements in the groundwater (natural convective flow) may influence the heat transport in borehole and surrounding bedrock in a groundwater filled borehole heat exchanger system. The purpose was also to determine if thermal response tests could be used to detect the convective influence and the effect on evaluated heat transfer parameters, effective bedrock thermal conductivity and borehole thermal resistance. 10. Recycling of CIGS solar cell waste materials
Abstract : The increased interest in solar power over the last few decades has led to a constant development of existing and new types of solar cells. One type of solar cell that is making advances on the global market is copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) thin film solar cells. READ MORE
