  1. 1. Indirect Radiohalogenation of Targeting Proteins Labelling Chemistry and Biological Characterisation

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Anna Orlova; Hans Lundqvist; Jörgen Carlsson; Lars Gedda; Jacek Capala; D.Scott Wilbur; [2003]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; radiohalogenation; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; NATURAL SCIENCES Biology Cell and molecular biology; NATURVETENSKAP Biologi Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Biomedical Radiation Science; biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Abstract : In about half of all newly diagnosed cancer cases, conventional treatment is not adequately curative, mainly due to the failure of conventional techniques to find and kill residual cells and metastases, which might consist of only a few malignant cells, without causing unacceptable complications to healthy tissue. To solve the problem a more selective delivery of cytotoxic substances to tumour cells is needed. READ MORE

    Abstract : Radionuclide molecular imaging is an emerging multidisciplinary technique that is used in modern medicine to visualise diseases at cellular and molecular levels. This thesis is based on five papers (I-V) and focuses on the development of site-specific radiolabelled recombinant anti-HER2 Affibody molecules and preclinical evaluations in vitro and in vivo of the labelled conjugates. 3. 3. Preclinical Development of Imaging Agents for HER2 Expression in Prostate Cancer Using Radiolabeled Affibody Molecules

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Jennie Malmberg; Anna Orlova; Vladimir Tolmachev; Marika Nestor; Eric O. Aboagye; [2013]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical Science; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Biomedical Radiation Science; Biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis is focused on pre-clinical evaluation of in vivo detection of HER2-expression in prostate cancer (PCa) patients and on the possibility of using targeted molecular imaging to personalize treatment of disseminated PCa. The work is divided into three distinct parts: (1) the establishment of a preclinical model for further studies, (2) imaging of HER2 in a murine model of PCa and (3) exploration of new treatment regimes against PCa. 4. 4. Prostate cancer theranostics using GRPR antagonist RM26

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Bogdan Mitran; Anna Orlova; Vladimir Tolmachev; Ulrika Rosenström; Tony Lahoutte; [2019]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Gastrin-releasing peptide receptor GRPR ; Bombesin; Prostate-specific membrane antigen PSMA ; Antagonist; Radionuclide molecular imaging; Theranostics; Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy PRRT .;

    Abstract : The malignant transformation of cells is often associated with an alteration of their molecular phenotype, resulting in overexpression of several cell surface proteins. Gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR) and prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) are examples of such pro-teins that are expressed at a high density in prostate cancer. READ MORE

  5. 5. Affibody Molecules for HER3-targeted Theranostics of Malignant Tumours

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Maria Rosestedt; Anna Orlova; Vladimir Tolmachev; Olof Eriksson; Sten Nilsson; [2018]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; affibody molecules; theranostics; HER3; molecular imaging;

    Abstract : The HER3 receptor plays a strong role in disease progression and resistance to therapies in several cancer types. Due to its endogenous expression and low overexpression in malignant tumours, it is a particularly challenging target. READ MORE
