   Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the association between endometriosis and malignancies also after controlling for parity, to investigate the impact of endometriosis on survival after a malignancy diagnosis and to investigate the association between treatment of endometriosis and ovarian cancer risk. In a population based cohort study on the association between endometriosis and malignancy, 64 492 women with a first time discharge diagnosis of endometriosis between 1969 and 2000, were included and 3 349 incident cases of a malignancy recorded.
