11. Determination of Antibiotics in the Swedish Environment with Emphasis on Sewage Treatment Plants
READ MORE

12. Study Design and Dose Regimen Evaluation of Antibiotics based on Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Modelling
Abstract : Current excessive use and abuse of antibiotics has resulted in increasing bacterial resistance to common treatment options which is threatening to deprive us of a pillar of modern medicine. In this work methods to optimize the use of existing antibiotics and to help development of new antibiotics were developed and applied. READ MORE

13. Antibiotics in patients on chemotherapy; aspects on pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic interactions with antineoplastic drugs
Abstract : The aims of these studies were to investigate the pharmacokinetics of two beta-lactam antibiotics in patients with fever and cytostatic-induced neutropenia and the influence of cytostatic-induced gastrointestinal damage on the absorption of co-trimoxazole. Furthermore to study the pharmacodynamic interactions between antibiotics and antineoplastic drugs and the impact of antineoplastic drugs on the intestinal microflora. READ MORE

14. Neurotoxicity of β-lactam antibiotics : experimental kinetic and neurophysiological studies
Abstract : The neurotoxic potential of intravenous administered benzylpenicillin (BPC) was studied in rabbits with intact blood-CNS barriers and rabbits with experimental E. coli meningitis. At onset of epileptogenic EEG activity or seizures, serum, CSF and brain tissue were collected for assay of BPC. READ MORE

15. Pharmacoepidemiology of Antibiotics, Weak Opioids and Statins with Special Reference to Socioeconomic Aspects - an Ecological Approach
Abstract : The influence of socioeconomic factors on drug utilisation has been studied by pharmacoepidemiological analyses involving 1) drugs that are used to cure disease, such as antibiotics, 2) drugs that are used to alleviate symptoms, such as weak opioids, and 3) drugs that are used to prevent disease, such as statins. In a large Swedish city (Malmö), the utilisation of four major drug groups (ATC-groups A = alimentation, C = circulation, N = nervous system, and R = respiration) correlated positively with an unfavourable socioeconomic situation, most pronouncedly with group N and least so with group R.
