    Abstract : The thesis comprises a study of the personal names and designations recorded on the Knossos Linear B tablets. The tablets are largely fragmentary and are written in a syllabic script.     Abstract : Prior to the Second World War, there was a Swedish-speaking population settled on the north-western Estonian coasts. The early history of this group is largely unknown. An examination of the production of flint daggers during the Late Stone Age and Early Bronze Age of Scandinavia indicates the presence of formal apprenticeship systems based on corporate descent groups.
