  2. 2. Solid-State NMR Characterization of Lipid Membranes

    Author : Vasco Castro; Arnold Maliniak; Göran Lindblom; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Solid-State NMR; Membranes; Lipids; Glycolipids; Local Anesthetics; Hydration; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry; fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the study of lipid bilayer systems by solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance. Two-dimensional 1H-13C separated local field experiments under magic-angle spinning were employed to investigate structural and dynamical modifications of cell membranes, resulting from the addition of compounds with some biological relevance. 3. 3. Molecular Modeling of Cardiolipin

    Author : Martin Dahlberg; Arnold Maliniak; Richard W. Pastor; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry;

    Abstract : Biological membranes are assembled from many different lipids. Our understanding of membrane function and morphology is dependent on linking the properties of the lipids to the properties of the membranes. READ MORE

  4. 4. Analysis of NMR Spin-lattice Relaxation Dispersion on Complex Systems

    Author : Yang Huang; Per-Olof Westlund; Arnold Maliniak; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NMRD; relaxation theory; hydration; MD; FFC; PrxV; OEC complex; ZSM-5; BMIM [PF6; ]; fysikalisk kemi; Physical Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis focus on the analysis of spin-lattice NMRD relaxation profilesmeasured in various complex systems such as proteins, zeolites and ionicliquids. Proton, deuterium and fluoride T1-NMRD relaxation profiles wereobtained from a fast-field cycling (FFC) instrument. READ MORE

  5. 5. Development of large-scale molecular and nanomaterial models

    Author : Mikhail Ivanov; Alexander P. Lyubartsev; Arnold Maliniak; Herre Jelger Risselada; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular simulations; Coarse-grained models; Lipids; TiO2 surface; Machine learning; Physical Chemistry; fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : Molecular simulations can access unique atomic-scale information about new materials, pharmaceuticals, and biological environments, making cost-effective predictions and aiding experimental studies. They are particularly useful for describing the mechanisms of nanoscale phenomena and the biological/inorganic interfaces. READ MORE
