  1. 1. Artificial neural networks applications in morphometric and landscape features analysis

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH

    Author : Amir Houshang Ehsani; KTH.; [2007]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TECHNOLOGY Other technology Environmental engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Övriga teknikvetenskaper Miljöteknik;

    Abstract : In this thesis a semi-automatic method is developed to analyze morphometric features and landscape elements based on Self Organizing Map (SOM) as a unsupervised Artificial Neural Network algorithm. Analysis and parameterization of topography into simple and homogenous land elements (landform) can play an important role as basic information in planning processes and environmental modeling. Abstract : Popular Abstract in Swedish Inom medicin, och inom många andra tillämpningar, är uppgiften ofta att utifrån en serie observationer ge ett jakande eller nekande svar på en viss fråga. Exempelvis måste en läkare avgöra om en patient med bröstsmärtor lider av akut hjärtinfarkt eller inte. READ MORE

  4. 4. The use of Bayesian confidence propagation neural network in pharmacovigilance

    University dissertation from Department of Theoretical Physics, Lund University

    Author : Andrew Bate; Umeå universitet.; [2003]
    Keywords : adverse drug reactions; pharmacovigilance; signal detection; spontaneous reporting; data mining; Bayesian statistics; BCPNN; neural network; medicinsk farmakologi; Medical Pharmacology;

    Abstract : The WHO database contains more than 2.8 million case reports of suspected adverse drug reactions reported from 70 countries worldwide since 1968. The Uppsala Monitoring Centre maintains and analyses this database for new signals on behalf of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring. READ MORE

  5. 5. Rainfall-Runoff Modelling Using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs)

    University dissertation from Department of Water Resources Engineering, Lund Institute of Technology, Lund University

    Author : Aman Mohammad Kalteh; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2007]

    Abstract : Over the last decades or so, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have become one of the most promising tools for modelling hydrological processes such as rainfall-runoff processes. In most studies, ANNs have been demonstrated to show superior result compared to the traditional modelling approaches. READ MORE
