  1. 6. Methodological advancements in microfluidic and carbonylation PET radiochemistry

    Author : Kenneth Dahl; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Along with the progress of PET as a powerful imaging tool in medicine, there has been increasing demand for new labeling methods. The main aim of this PhD dissertation was to develop novel labeling methodologies using the positron emitter carbon-11. READ MORE

  2. 7. Design and Synthesis of Novel Glutamine Synthetase Inhibitors and Development of Palladium(0)-Catalyzed Aminocarbonylation

    Author : Olof Lagerlund; Mats Larhed; Anders Karlén; Anders Hallberg; Michael Begtrup; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Medicinal Chemistry; läkemedelskemi;

    Abstract : Tuberculosis (TB) is a major infectious disease, killing about 2 million people annually throughout the world. Today's TB treatment is a lengthy procedure involving a combination of antibiotics. No new TB drug has been introduced onto the market in the past 40 years, and the emergence of multi- and extensively drug-resistant TB calls for new drugs. READ MORE

  3. 8. Development and Applications of Hypervalent Iodine Compounds : Powerful Arylation and Oxidation Reagents

    Author : Nazli Jalalian; Berit Olofsson; Viktor V. Zhdankin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hypervalent iodine compounds; diaryliodonium salts; oxidation; Koser s reagent; arylation; phenols; diaryl ethers; chemoselectivity; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The first part of this thesis describes the efficient synthesis of several hypervalent iodine(III) compounds. Electron-rich diaryliodonium salts have been synthesized in a one-pot procedure, employing mCPBA as the oxidant. Both symmetric and unsymmetric diaryliodonium tosylates can be isolated in high yields. READ MORE

  4. 9. Photoinitiated Radical Carbonylation Using [11C]Carbon Monoxide : 11C-Labelling of Aliphatic Carboxylic Acids, Esters, and Amides

    Author : Oleksiy Itsenko; Bengt Långström; Tor Kihlberg; Chryssostomos Chatgilialoglu; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; 11C-labelling; radicals; carbonylation; carbon monoxide; solvent effects; sensitizers; sulfoxides; WAY-100635; PET; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : One-step photoinitiated free radical carbonylation was employed for the rapid (5–7 min) labelling of aliphatic carboxylic acids, esters, and amides with a short-lived positron emitter 11C (t½ = 20.3 min) at the carbonyl position. The labelled compounds were synthesized from alkyl iodides (0.05–0. READ MORE

  5. 10. Palladium(0)-Catalyzed Spirocyclization and Carbonylation Reactions : Ligands Targeting the Angiotensin II Type 2 Receptor

    Author : Jens Lindman; Mats Larhed; Johan Gising; Christian Sköld; Alessandra Tolomelli; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Palladium catalysis; Mizoroki-Heck reaction; spiroindolines; spirooxindoles; amino acids; carbonylation; angiotensin II type 2 receptor; AT2R ligands; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Abstract : Palladium(0)-catalyzed chemistry represents one of the most important methods for the construction of carbon-carbon bonds, which are ubiquitous in organic compounds. The first part of this thesis describes the palladium(0)-catalyzed diastereoselective Mizoroki-Heck reaction of Vince lactam-derived precursors for the formation of spiroindolines (paper I) and spirooxindoles, which are scaffolds present in several natural products with interesting biological activity.
