  1. 1. Anatomy and taxonomy of cetrarioid lichens

    Author : Arne Thell; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; taxonomi; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; phytogeography; morphology; taxonomy; Systematic botany; pycnoconidia; ascus structures; anatomy; Systematisk botanik; cetrarioid lichens; Ascomycotina; Parmeliaceae; morfologi; kemotaxonomi. Abstract : The anatomy of the cetrarioid lichens (Parmeliaceae) has been studied, and the taxonomy revised. Special attention has been paid to reproductive structures, in particular the asci and pycnoconidia. Two types of asci are recognized. The Cetraria type is narrowly clavate, bears an amyloid ring structure in the tholus, and has a small axial body. READ MORE

  3. 3. Buellia species with pluriseptate spores and the Physciaceae (Lecanorales, Ascomycotina) : Taxonomic, phylogenetic and ultrastructural studies

    Author : Anders Nordin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; Buellia; Diplotomma; phylogenetic analysis; pluriseptate spores; Physciaceae; taxonomy; ultrastructure; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; systematisk botanik; Systematic Botany;

    Abstract : This dissertation is primarily focused on the Buellia species with pluriseptate spores, often referred to the section or genus Diplotomma, and secondarily on the Physciaceae. An ultrastructural study at family level gives new information on spore characters. READ MORE

  4. 4. Taxonomy and phylogeny of Dermatocarpon (Verrucariales, lichenized Ascomycotina) with special emphasis on the Nordic species

    Author : Starri Heidmarsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; Dermatocarpon; ITS rDNA; Morphology; Nordic countries; Phylogenetic analysis; Taxonomy; Verrucariaceae; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; systematisk botanik; Systematic Botany;

    Abstract : In this thesis Dermatocarpon (Verrucariales, lichenized Ascomycotina) of the Nordic countries is revised. Useful characters for species identification are epinecral layer type, spore length, medulla sensitivity to Melzer´s Reagent, and lower surface colour anappearance. READ MORE
