  1. 11. Antimicrobial resistance of the microbiota in the reproductive tract of horses in conjunction with assisted reproduction

    Author : Pongpreecha Malaluang; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Antimicrobial resistance is a global challenge exacerbated by antibiotic misuse and inadequate infection control. This study explores the effects of antibiotics in semen extenders on the vaginal bacteria of the mare and investigates the separation of spermatozoa from bacteria in seminal plasma as an alternative to adding antibiotics to semen extenders. 2. 12. Acupuncture in reproductive medicine. Applications in human assisted reproduction and aspects of clinical and experimental neuroendocrinology

    Author : Elisabet Stener-Victorin; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; electro-acupuncture; blood flow impedance; circulation; uterine artery; in-vitro fertilization; oocyte aspiration; polycystic ovary syndrome; experimentally induced PCO; anovulation; gonadotropins; steroids; neuropeptides; b-endorphin; nerve growth factor; corticotropin-releasing factor.;

    Abstract : The use of acupuncture in the area of reproductive medicine is relatively new, and it has been rather poorly investigated in the past. When muscle afferents are stimulated by acupuncture in somatic segments related to the innervation of the ovaries and the uterus, functional changes occur in the neural substrate that may influence reproductive function and result in peripheral, segmental and central effects. 4. 14. Preservation of fertility through cryopreservation and in vitro maturation of human ovarian follicles and oocytes

    Author : Julius Hreinsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Oocyte; maturation in-vitro; cryopreservation; ovarian follicles; culture; IVM; preservation of fertility;

    Abstract : One of the most rapidly expanding fields in assisted reproduction is the preservation of fertility for young women at risk of premature ovarian failure. This may be caused by cytotoxic therapy or other reasons. Cryopreservation of follicles in ovarian tissue has been successful in animal models with live young being born. READ MORE
