  1. 21. Electron-nuclear Dynamics in Nonlinear Optics and X-ray spectroscopy

    Author : Sergey Polyutov; Faris Gelmukhanov; Patrick Norman; KTH; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Abstract : This thesis is devoted to theoretical studies of the role of nuclear vibrations on nonlinear and linear absorption, pulse propagation, and resonant scattering of light. The molecular parameters needed for the simulations are obtained through suitable quantum chemical calculations, which are compared with available experimental data. READ MORE

  2. 22. Free Neutral Clusters and Liquids Studied by Electron Spectroscopy and Lineshape Modeling

    Author : Henrik Bergersen; Olle Björneholm; Svante Svensson; Gunnar Öhrwall; Maxim Tchaplyguine; Hans Ågren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Physics; Clusters; Nano-particles; XPS; UPS; AES; Radial structure; Molecular dynamics; Density functional theory; Liquids; Liquid microjet; Solvation; Fysik;

    Abstract : The electronic and geometrical structure of free neutral clusters and liquids have been studied using synchrotron-radiation based photoelectron and Auger electron spectroscopy in combination with lineshape modeling. A novel experimental setup has been developed for studies of liquids, based on the liquid microjet technique. READ MORE

  3. 23. Dissociation dynamics of highly excited molecules: Theory and Experiment

    Author : Shabnam Oghbaie; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : Molecular dissociation; core-electron excitation; double ionization; femtoseconds molecular dynamics; Isomerization; symmetry breaking; momentum imaging; site-selective dissociation; butadiene; cyclopropane; nuclear dynamics; Auger decay;

    Abstract : This thesis presents studies on dissociation of two model molecules: Butadiene and Cyclopropane. Tunable synchrotron radiation was used to ionize or excite the molecules in the gas phase, and the momentum correlation of the resulting fragment ions were measured using a 3D momenta coincident ion spectroscopy. 4. 24. Resonant and Non-Resonant Electron Spectroscopy of Free Molecules and Free Clusters

    Author : Raimund Feifel; Michael Meyer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Resonant electron spectroscopy has been performed on the diatomic molecules CO, N2 and HCl. Core-excitations were made to bound and dissociative intermediate electronic states. Fundamental interference phenomena are observed and discussed in the framework of ”X-ray Raman Scattering Theory”. READ MORE

  5. 25. Multi-electron processes in atoms and molecules - Experimental investigations by coincidence spectroscopy

    Author : Jonas Andersson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis presents studies on multi-electron processes in atoms and molecules initiated by single-photon absorption. The experimental techniques used for these studies rely on synchrotron radiation offered at large scale user facilities, and a magnetic bottle spectrometer. READ MORE
